Asterz Build #6 Released
greg | December 7, 2008
Slasher of Team Duck returns with his hard drive spinning and code compiling… After a one-year hiatus, Asterz Build #6 is released. It’s well improved; but keep in mind, it’s not a fully functional game. Build #6 is an update showcasing Slasher’s latest progress. Now, don’t get me wrong, Asterz is still playable and rather enjoyable. So download and give it a shot leaving your feedback below.

Asterz Build #6 changes:
- Core code completely redone. I physically deleted it and redid it.
- New TEDGE Team Duck particle engine being used, so particles look much better.
- GU lighting added, giving shape to models.
- Makeshift anti-aliasing added for smoother edges (thanks Raphael for dither matrix).
- Basic menu added.
- Ability to choose different ships (3 are available in this build).
- Ship physics tweaked a bit.
- Ability to barrel roll with ship now.
- Level setup now complete, I just need to make the levels.
- Added D-PAD movement support.
- Probably other things that I forget right now…

Comments (13)Shooter and Blob Volleyball Released
greg | August 24, 2008
Team Duck’s Slasher, whom you may recognize from other such homebrew releases, has shared two more for the Neoflash competition — Shooter and Blob Volleyball.
Shooter:

Shooter is a side-scrolling adventure of a young teenager who enters a fictional world of danger, monsters, and mysteries. Shooter incorporates textual dialog adding that classic NES-style of game play.
Blob Volleyball:

Next up — Blob Volleyball. It’s a jello physics driven game of; you guessed it, volleyball. You’re a blob, your opponent is a blob, and you must fling a smaller blob at each other. Score points and win.
Both Shooter and Blob Volleyball also utilize the PSP Motion Kit Driver.

Orbid: A New Homebrew Game
greg | December 27, 2007
I must say, homebrew comes a dime a dozen nowadays, and over the years developers sure have come along way… What’s on tonight’s roster is another addictive homebrew game from a coder we’ve grown to know and truly appreciate. He goes by the name of Slasher, and this represents his latest — Orbid!

Orbid is an unique game in which you’re a small orb struggling to survive. You must eat the smaller (orange) orbs in order to gain points and survive in this dangerous world. All the while, you’ll be avoiding larger orbs or else you’ll become their dinner!
Orbid features 4 distinct game modes:
- Normal Mode: Level based, in which each level will become increasingly harder for you to survive.
- Survival Mode: Survival of the fittest. Survive for as long as possible before you become the enemies dinner.
- Time Mode: Beat the clock. Eat as many helpless orange orbs as possible. For each one you eat, your timer will +1; and for each set of orbs you eat, you’ll recieve a 15to20+ random amount of time.
- Mine Mode: Avoid the mines! Your goal is to eat the helpless small orb each round while avoiding the various scattered mines throughout the map.

Comments (8)Asterz — New Enemies in Development
greg | October 24, 2007
Its been a slow couple of days; however, homebrew developer Slasher has shared some insight towards the next Asterz update — two new enemies! As you may recall, Asterz is a constant work in progress. Slasher is listening to you, the player, and implementing whatever ideas you may have. Below is a snapshot of one new enemy model…

Slasher describes the other, “the second enemy will basically be a spiral which will simply follow you and attempt to crash into you causing MASSIVE DAMAGE!”.
And on a closing note…
Please keep in mind that all these parts will be combined to create an enjoyable gaming experience. This isn’t going to be the entire game laid out in front of you. Expect a video of the new asterz pretty soon, and perhaps another build. Quite a few things have changed.
In the meantime, have fun playing Asterz Build #4.

Comments (6)Slash-N-Flash v1 Released
greg | March 7, 2007
Team-Duck’s Slasher has released a new homebrew app titled Slash-N-Flash. Simply put, Slash-N-Flash is a generic tool for flashing whatever you desire to the PSP’s flash memory; a firmware modders dream come true. It’s quite wonderful having one app to manage all your customizations, kudos Slasher.
Inside of the folder SlashNFlash, there’s another folder promptly named ‘folders’. You can create as many folders in this ‘folders’ folder as you want and configure each folder to flash a specific file. I’ve included most of the more popular flashes as examples. But please, keep in mind, you can create AS MANY FOLDERS AS YOU WANT FOR AS MANY FILES AS YOU WANT. There is no limit.
Now inside each of these folders you MUST have a last.txt(can be empty), and a destination.txt(MUST include the path of where you want the file to be flashed).
And now you can just stick all the files in each of these folders and flash them to the corresponding destination as many times as you’d like.
There is now also another option in which you can actually browse your memorystick and choose whichever files you want and flash them where you need to.
Some areas of interest if you’re looking to customize your PSP:
custom gameboots
custom boot sounds
custom fonts
custom backgrounds
custom XMB icons
custom XMB waves
Slash-N-Flash is designed to function with custom firmwares, including 3.03 & 3.10 OE. Use at your own risk.

Comments (37)Wave Flasher v3 Released
greg | February 12, 2007
With the slew of custom XMB waves floating around, you may find yourself asking… “What tool should I use to flash this thing?” Well, Wave Flasher would be an appropriate answer. And it just so happens Slasher of Team Duck has released v3 of his handy homebrew app.
Wave Flasher v3 permits you to store several “customized waves” on your memory stick and select between them. Conveniently it allows you to preview them before flashing too.

As of V3, you can now also include a screenshot of that particular system_plugin_bg.rco. Just make sure the screenshot is a PNG or JPG, and is named the same as its corresponding system_plugin_bg.rco.
eg) superwave.rco & superwave.png/superwave.jpg
I’ve also included a few examples for the morons out there :)Once you have all your custom .rco’s in the system_plugin_bg folder, just simply run the program and you can select from them and easily install whichever one you want.
This is for just about any custom firmware version, including 3.03 OE-C, AND 3.10 OE-A. I’ve heard reports of this bricking 1.5’s, so I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.
