Snes9xTYLsmcm (0.4.2) Test 5 27/05/08
greg | May 28, 2008
Over the past few days you’ve likely spotted several SNES test builds circulating the scene. While the Japanese developer (or developers?) remains anonymous, people are talking, and word on the virtual street is, Ruka — you know, the talent behind NesterJ — may be responsible for the number of recent updates. Evidently, Snes9xTYLsmcm is based off the initial developments of YoyoFR and Laxer3a.
Anyway… I finally had the opportunity to sit down, install the latest test build, and kick some serious alien ass in Contra III – the Alien Wars. Fans of the Super NES — you need this emulator, no questions asked. It’s slick.

Ok, you can ask questions — leave ‘em below.

Comments (51)Unofficial NesterJ NES Emulator 1.11 RM (Rewind & Mirror Mods)
greg | August 6, 2007
Boom bam, DAVEX in this jam. You were all gawking at DAVEX’s RIN GB/GBC release when the added ability of rewinding your actions came into play. Now do the same with Ruka’s Nintendo (NES) emulator, NesterJ! Persons who dug mirror mode can also use that.
To recapitulate…
“…With rewind (or “sands of time”, if you prefer) you can warp back in time without worrying about saving states. If you made a mistake, you can press “rewind” button and undo it….”
“…In mirror mode, like it’s name says, all graphics are horizontally inverted. So, if your favorite platform game is played from left to right, this time you can have the choice of playing it from right to left, giving it a little novelty touch…”
Thanks to Ruka for his original developments, and DAVEX for his added touch of dopeness.
1942!
