RemoteJoyLite v0.20a Released
greg | March 15, 2009
Developer Akind (or Takakind?) has released a new version of RemoteJoyLite, and this version you won’t be using anytime soon, at least not regularly… As a Google robot puts it — it’s a version of so many problems…
RemoteJoyLite v0.20a is more of a test or preview showcasing what’s in the works. Really, you should stick with RemoteJoyLite 0.19 for now.
translated RemoteJoyLite 0.20a changes:
- PSP I have enough space to change the plug-in from internal addressing system when a buffer to store the screen. Since the increased use of plug-in memory, so you may run out of memory and have enabled a lot of plug-ins.

Developer Akind reenters the limelight with his popular plug-in… Get a load of RemoteJoyLite — it’s best described as a “TV out” experience over USB. You’re given both the prx and Windows client to get started right after reading this…
And you should know — RemoteJoyLite descends from TyRaNid’s tool known as RemoteJoy.
And for what it’s worth — the loosely translated [Japanese to English] change log:
- Right-click the mouse to get the configuration screen.
- PSP’s analog pad and buttons to be assigned to.
- Vblank asynchronous transfer mode in the timing of the change to a forced transfer.

Comments (53)RemoteJoyLite v0.18 Released: a TV out like experience over USB
greg | November 4, 2008
Akind’s RemoteJoyLite is now at version 0.18. Once equipped your PSP will capture and deliver video frames straight to your computer monitor — all over a USB connection.
And while your hand-held remains connected to the PC, you may as well give PSPdisp a shot too. It’s a similar plug-in which extends your Windows desktop to the PSP screen. Use your PSP as an additional monitor to display whatever desired.
RemoteJoyLite v0.18 [translated] changes:
- Screensaver suppression system changed a bit.
- Add images of asynchronous transfer mode.
- Select USB connection in the XMB works a little better.

I’m not entirely sure what’s new in this version of Akind’s RemoteJoyLite; nonetheless, it’s fresh off the press and likely improved. All I can suggest — you download version 0.17b1, give it a shot, and leave your experience via the comments.
Akind’s RemoteJoyLite is based off TyRaNid’s PSP development tool. Enjoy TV out like capabilities using a Windows PC and USB 2.0 port.

Japanese coder, who seemingly goes by the name Akind, has released an update to RemoteJoyLite.
Newcomers — connect your PSP via USB and copy this to your memory stick, enable under the recovery console, then kick back and enjoy “TV out”-like functionality on your PC monitor. You may require the ‘”PSP” Type B’ USB driver for Windows. Download that with Custom Firmware Extender.
Old-timers — you know what to do… Exit the RemoteJoyLite window, keep your USB connected, update, and re-enjoy it all over again.
RemoteJoyLite v0.16 [translated] change log:
“the active suppression when the PC’s screen saver. PSP screen is OFF. USB connection is back ON PSP screen. Input pad was delayed 1 frame has been fixed. Some games on display did not have been fixed. Full-time position and screen size can be specified. POV,AXIS,ROT POV, AXIS, ROT be assigned to the button. Some PSP only able to transfer region. Some PC diagonally dot slippage occurred had been fixed.”
…whatever the case, it’s no doubt improved.

Update: If you’re stuck at a black screen with “WAITING” printed across the top right, then you must download Custom Firmware Extender v2.2 (below) and install the appropriate ‘”PSP” Type B’ USB driver.
Thanks Amrish.
You may or may not recollect TyRaNid’s PSP dev. tool: RemoteJoy. Essentially RemoteJoy provides “TV out” capabilities over a USB connection with your PC. With that said — non-Slim owners and non-FuSa users — you too can now experience PSP on a larger scale.
Japanese developer, Akind (correct me if I’m wrong?), has taken TyRaNid’s project and has further optimized it for us end-users. Packaged in the form of a small PRX plug-in and Windows executable — we have RemoteJoyLite.
Sadly, I can’t provide a screenshot for you; RemoteJoyLite doesn’t seem to function under Parallels on my Mac. Although, I did stumble across this YouTube video demonstrating the dopeness:
RemoteJoyLite v0.15 [translated] changes:
- “SceCtrlLatch” related to behavior modification.
- Image-transfer method (TYPE2, TYPE3) added.
- HOME POPS button on a good behavior.
- Gamma correction added.

Comments (123)RemoteJoy — PSP “Video Out” via USB
greg | May 17, 2007
Update: DeMoN X has updated his RemoteJoy GUI to version 1.51:
- Added full credits to TyRaNiD 2k6 for Remotejoy SDL and Schrade for batch files and script files, tutorial, and compiled binaries
- Added killall batch to MyBase.Load
- Accurate process checking of USBHost FS
- Added mode menu, Not completed.
Tyranid has released an astonishing update to his development tools RemoteJoy and PSPLink. Used in conjunction with this new GUI app from DeMoN X, Windows users will now have the ability to display their PSP screen on a PC’s monitor via USB, hence the loosely used term in this scenario, “Video Out.” (It’s not really a video output.)
All the necessary instructions to begin using this wig-splitting setup can be found within the RAR archive — ReadMe-LibUSB.txt & ReadMe-RemoteJoySDL.txt.
Couple things I should mention… 1) You’ll require Microsoft’s .NET Framework, and 2) if you’re not using Windows, but Linux instead, read this detailed tutorial.
Otherwise, rock on! Obviously some things remain flaky — certain games may not work, and you may experience the odd crash.
