Team Red Bull PSP Releases Despertar del Cementerio v8 and Psardumper Mods
greg | August 5, 2009
New to the scene — Team Red Bull PSP — or if you’re Spanish, Equipo Red Bull PSP. Three days back they released a modified version of Dark_AleX’s Despertar del Cementerio v8 allowing you to install Custom Firmware 5.50 the Pandora way. Today, Team Red Bull releases a modified version of Psardumper, which dumps and decrypts [some] 5.50 firmware modules. Allow me to quote Team Red Bull by way of Google Translate:
The PSARDumper of Dark_AleX has been updated so that decrypts files from 5.50 firmware. However, not all decrypts, because we did not reverse engineer the files containing the keys of the firmware, the truth, we do not believe that what we will do and we understand that there are websites, people, … that have already completely decoded.
There you have it. You can grab everything below.

Comments (37)PSARDumper with Support for Dumping & Decrypting PSP-3000 Modules
greg | November 19, 2008
Moving forward at Sony-sonic speed is Dark_AleX who has now successfully decrypted those modules specific to the PSP-3000.
Do note: this program is NOT for the PSP-3000 itself; it’s intended to run on the PSP Fat (1000) or Slim (2000). The decrypted modules are for research and educational purposes.

Comments (24)PSARDumper for Firmware 5.00 Released
greg | October 15, 2008
Sony releases a new firmware; Dark_AleX releases a new version of PSARDumper. Mind you — PSP-3000 modules cannot be decrypted yet; not even their names. The keys for the file names table are in “mesg_led03.prx” of the PSP-3000; which again, cannot be accessed yet. Due to that you’ll see various warnings when putting PSARDumper into action, i.e.) “could not find path of XXX.”
The other change in PSARDumper: no more buffer limitation. It is now loaded dynamically from the memory stick.

Comments (20)RSPsar Dumper for Firmware 4.05 Released
greg | July 14, 2008
Over at PSP-GENERATION they’ve released a modified version of Red Squirrel’s PSAR dumper. Ultimately “RSPsar Dumper” is responsible for dumping and decrypting Sony’s latest firmware update (4.05).
Evidently there aren’t many changes; so the likelihood of a custom firmware based on 4.05 is next to none. But, we’ll wait and see what happens.
In the meantime — keep fit and have fun.

Comments (10)3.80 PSARDumper + KL4E/KL3E Decompressor Released
greg | December 28, 2007
Although it’s likely to serve the average Joe no real purpose, PSARDumper marks a great achievement in the PSP hacking scene.
This current version dumps & decrypts PSP firmware 3.80. As well it decompresses the newly introduced compression algorithm called KL4E; noted here.
Email reports indicate the work of _HellDashX_, but I’m not certain — no readme, no details, etc… Props to whomever is responsible anyway.
To use: install as you would any normal piece of homebrew, copy the 3.80 firmware update EBOOT.PBP to the root of your memory stick, then run PSARDumper.

Comments (116)M33 New PSARdumper Released
greg | September 14, 2007
Whose hooouse? M33’s hooouse! The latest from Sony has been fully decrypted thanks to Team M33. And of course everyone else involved with the development of preceding psardumper versions. In all likelihood custom firmware 3.71-M33 will soon be available to the masses. Keep checking back!
This is a recode of psardumper for 2.XX & 3.XX kernels.
If you are in a cfw of the fat psp, be sure to put it in GAME3XX or in GAME if you have it configured for 3.XX kernel.
Support for 3.7X decryption has also been added.
The instructions are same as for original psardumper, except that you don’t need the DATA.PSAR in the root of memory stick, but instead the EBOOT.PBP; this is to make it more noobs-friendly and lazy-friendly.

Comments (41)Firmware 3.30 Decrypted!
greg | March 31, 2007
This was emailed to me no more than 10 minutes ago — Team C+D’s 3.30 PSAR Dumper, responsible for dumping & decrypting Sony’s latest 3.30 firmware!
You know the usual routine by now: Sony releases a new firmware strengthening security, shortly thereafter it’s decrypted by a talented team of hackers, and perhaps — just maybe — a custom firmware revision will follow. Until then, keep checkin’ back — same Dashhacks time, same Dashhacks channel!
Thanks Mario!

3.10 Firmware Decrypted!
greg | January 31, 2007
Ah ha! Good morning, and what a morning! Team C+D has done it again with successfully decrypting the latest PSP firmware — 3.10.
- Download the firmware 3.10 update and the new PSAR dumper
- Copy “psar_dump2″ and “psar_dump2%” to the correct location on your memory stick (GAME or GAME150 depending on your configuration — must be ran under the 1.50 kernel)
- Use PBP Unpacker to extract DATA.PSAR from the 3.10 update EBOOT
- Run PSAR Dumper
Kudos on that! And thanks to absolutely everyone who dropped me an email with the news.
Are you anticipating what I’m anticipating? ;)

Comments (77)FW 3.00 & 3.01 Decrypted!
greg | November 22, 2006
This sure made me laugh… The Noobz have successfully modified PSAR dumper to dump and decrypt the latest Sony PSP firmware, 3.00. And! If that’s not enough, it also does 3.01 — ha ha!
We’re proud to present a mod to the PSPPet’s PSARDumper, that will decrypt all known firmware update PSARs – just extract the PSAR from the EBOOT in the usual way, copy it to ms0:/data.psar, and run the dumper.
Great news & awesome work guys!
