Alex the Allegator 4: Colour Edition & R2 Update
greg | February 14, 2009
And another one… Actually two. MK2k has released R2 for Alex the “Allegator” that now enables the bonus game –
After playing through all original levels and collecting every cherry and every star in them, you are able to enter a bonus game (on the PC by pressing F1). This wasn’t possible in the R1 PSP port, so here is the R2 update. Press the Square Button in the stage selection menu to enter the bonus game.
In addition to that, Alex the Allegator 4 Color Edition. Tim “Argh!” Wright released a color edition source and data mod, this is the PSP port. The square button also enters the bonus game when appropriate.

Comments (3)Alex the Allegator 4 (PSP Port) Released
greg | February 11, 2009
Rewind back in time to the original Gameboy era with MK2k’s Alex the Allegator 4. It’s actually a port from these guys who obviously specialize in old school bananas. And yes — that’s “Allegator”, not “Alligator.”
Alex the Allegator 4 is a true jump’n'run, just like the old classic ones. Guide Alex through the jungle in order to save his girlfriend Lola from evil humans who want to make a bag of her.
Alex the Allegator 4 is a very small game. It runs in a very low resolution with only four colors and will not provide you with any real time video or 3D effects. Nor will it snare you with a compelling storyline. It’s only a short platform game with a few tricks up it’s sleeve. We’re sure you’ll like it.

Comments (5)APPSwitcher v1.1 Released
greg | November 11, 2008
Okay, now it is really that simple, promise… A few of you likely steered away from APPSwitcher due to minor annoyances and/or problems experienced with its initial release; i.e.) activating and deactivating USB mode to refresh the memory stick cache. Well, my main hombre, MK2k, has corrected all that. Put your hands together for APPSwitcher v1.1.

APPSwitcher v1.1 changes:
- ISO, GAME150 etc. directories now work
- The content of the memory stick gets automatically refreshed (no need for the workaround of activating/deactivating the USB mode anymore)
- The standard XMB functionality should now work correctly

Further improving their Phoenix Game Engine, ultimately resulting with improved code of your own, are MK2k and InsertWittyName with version 0.02.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again… This is a Lua wrapper of the Phoenix Game Engine (PGE) allowing you to write clean and functional code with little or less frustration on your part. The PGE Lua API is nicely documented and you may refer to that right here.
Video demo, 0.02 changelog and download, all available after this break…
