Ooo, you smell that? That’s PSP Extreme Link continuing to ripen… Now sitting at version 1.6.0 Beta 2, Quake’s Extreme Link adds multi-CISO compression — compress in batch, real easy like. As well, longtime users will notice some other differences. New users, you should just try it out.

Ah, compress it — compress it reeeal good. Oooh, baby, baby. Baby, baby. Kapoue3 has a new version of Yet Another CSO Compressor (YACC) for download. Compress those chunky ISO images to BOOSTER’s CSO and/or Uncle Jam’s JSO format. CisoPlus! is supported as well.

YACC 0.4.0.3 changes:

• Russian translation by In$ane
• Greek translation by koutsou.
• Added the dummy boot.bin option in CisoPlus configuration panel. Save some kB or MB when you create your CSO.

kapoue3’s “Yet Another CSO Compressor” (YACC) is, as you know, the acting Windows front end for CisoPlus — the coolest, most in style way to compress your ISO images — to the max!

The latest version bundles a lot of internal changes and improvements to the overall process. kapoue3 has also added a system information tabsheet for Windows XP and higher. You’ll notice two new skins courtesy of yourpsp.ir and Dorian8821. Translations have been further revamped; specifically Persian by yourpsp.ir. A lot of time has been spent implementing an Arabic character set in a non-Unicode Yacc. So kudos to everyone involved, you guys rock!

Yet Another CSO Compressor (YACC) just made its way to version 0.3.9.7. From the author who brought us CisoPlus is Yacc — the Windows front end which simplifies the whole CSO compression process.

Added:

• Help file by tiamatloc
• 2 Skins (Dorian8821 & Frankie567)
• CRC calculation (StoneCut request)
• Partial Persian translation by yourpsp.ir
• CisoPlus 1.0.11.1 support

Fixed:

• Default folders are working (Kyubi)
• Error message at opening when no internet connection is found (Sbrillon1)
• Only one file to save options: yacc.ini (StoneCut request)
• Translations (by the translators :-))
• CRC calculation displays error messages if something wrong occurs, buttons of dialog messages are now translated (Tinman)

kapoue3 delivers a brand new version of CisoPlus — the popular CSO [command line] tool for both Windows and Linux.

CisoPlus v1.0.11 includes a nifty new feature (-rm_update) allowing all the UPDATE crap to be easily pushed into a Lost Area. As a result, you’ll end up with a smaller CSO image. By “UPDATE crap” I mean the possible firmware update and other related files that come on most UMDs.

If you combine this new feature with the previous one (-rm_aud & -rm_vid) you can, for example, divide by 20 the size of the game “Pocket Pool”.

Stick around, the front end side of things (Yacc) will be modified to include -rm_update.

Comin’ comin’ atcha, kapoue3’s gonna wetcha, with a new release of Yet Another CSO Compressa.

On the real, kapoue3 has released Yacc 0.3.9.6 — the graphical “CsoPlus!” front end for Windows. Newcomers may not be familiar with Yacc, considering we covered its last release in June. Don’t be mistaken, this isn’t your typical CSO tool. Kapoue3 has added his own touch be fully extending the feature set. See the download page and CisoPlus for details. Enjoy!

Added:

• Dutch translation by ScarHand
• “No-redirection mode”: Yacc display the MS-DOS window when a compressor is launched. This can solve some graphical bugs on some Custom Windows (Note that Yacc seems to be not compatible with some software like topdesk)
• Add a “lock” to prevent the compression of a file which is already being decompressed and vice versa

A minor update for CisoPlus from developer kapoue3. There are no new options; however, the compatibility of “Lost Areas” has been improved, as well a nasty bug corrected in the linux build. Fetch the revised version below & compress it reaaaal good.

Two notable points from kapoue3:

• CisoPlus is a command-line tool, so I have no time to teach how to use a ms-dos prompt (or a linux shell), this is a version for advanced people or for those who have developed a GUI. I’m working also on a new Yacc to integrate this new CisoPlus
• The lost Areas are just options: we are not obliged to use them!!! Some people forget this, and think that CisoPlus will always delete media files!!! CisoPlus is a 100% compatible CSO compressor which keep all the ISO data, only the new options (-rm_aud & rm_vid) will destroy the CSO. The game is always readable by the PSP without any new plugin.

kapoue3 has bumped CisoPlus to version 1.0.9.1 — the enhanced CSO compressor for Windows & Linux. Remember, it’s a command line tool, it’s not designed for the technically-impaired. Perhaps we’ll see a new version of Yacc GUI — the CisoPlus front end — in the near future.

CisoPlus 1.0.9.1 changes:

• Improved some previous code
• Added optimized decompression (-dec -opt)
• Added “Lost Areas” to reduce CSO file size… (the –rm_aud & –rm_vid arguments)

Lost Areas shouldn’t be taken lightly; they’re considered “destructive options” which prevent audio and/or video files from being written to the resulting CSO image. It could potentially render the game unplayable. I’d suggest you refrain from using these options if you don’t understand what you are doing. To perform advanced ISO manipulation, you should use UMDGen or wait for a new version of CisoPlus.

If, of course, –rm_aud & –rm_vid are not used, CisoPlus write a 100% fully compliant CSO and can regenerate the original ISO.
