Yet Another IMG Editor v1.3 (YAIE) for Grand Theft Auto!
greg | July 3, 2007
Earlier in the year a coder by the name of Dustcrazy released a Windows app for extracting & manipulating models/textures from Grand Theft Auto’s main IMG file. Today a much improved version is available supporting GTA Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, as well the PS2 versions — GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas.

If you get an error indicating file *.OCX is missing, copy all three OCX files to your System32 folder and run “REGSVR32.bat” to register them.
Additionally, YAIE includes plugin support and there are plans for a GTA textural editor later on. Foreign users will be pleased to know multiple languages are supported via ‘lang.ini.’

greg | March 12, 2007
Its been awhile since we’ve seen any GTA:LCS related hacks, but suddenly, like a quick donkey-punch, Dustcrazy releases Liberty City Stories IMG Extractor v1.0.1. Responsible for extracting models and textures from Grand Theft Auto’s main IMG file — for both the PSP and PS2 version — GTA modders/hackers/cheaters alike will definitely have some fun with this.
Requirements:
- Either the PSP or PS2 image file
- 40 MB Free RAM, or the size of the IMG. Note the twice as much memory than required will increase the speed.
- Time… Do to the current process in the build it requires a good amount of time. I plan to improve the amount of time that this takes. Its due to the slower speed of Windows file reading/writing vs the Windows API version…
- Visual Basic 6 Runtimes
A great achievement indeed; let the GTA hacking carry on! Installation and usage can be found in “ReadMe.rtf.”

Thanks for the heads up Dustcrazy.
