Your virtual lifeguard is back on duty. Breathe life into your seemingly dead Fat or Slim PSP with Dark_AleX’s own CPR device — Despertar Cementerio. As promised — the Pandora battery method for installing custom firmware 3.80 M33.
Installation, usage, and other concerns are addressed in the readme. I strongly encourage you read that over prior to flashing. You will require the Sony 1.50, 3.40, and 3.80 update EBOOTs. Get those below. As well, if you haven’t already, create a Pandora battery and magic memory stick. Tutorials available in our forums — here, and here, even here. Thanks Demonchild.

Comments (57)It was promised quite awhile ago, but here it is — a working firmware 3.11 homebrew enabler (HEN) & downgrader — as Noobz put it, “a solution to help people trapped on firmware 3.11 by Sony’s dirty tricks”. With that said, welcome to the new era of homebrew and custom firmwares, young Padawan learners. Note: you still require a UMD copy of Lumines.
As you may know, if you have a TA-082/TA-086 motherboard , then if you downgraded your PSP to v1.50, its idstorage keys will have been patched during downgrading to avoid bricking. The latest official Sony firmwares (3.30 onwards) detect this patch, and refuse to allow you to upgrade. Without a hardware solution, this can leave you trapped on v3.11 firmware, with no way to upgrade, and no way to downgrade.
Everything you need to know is in README.TXT.
Thanks for sticking to your guns, Fanjita and Noobz. And of course props to Dark_AleX for his HEN code.

Comments (14)Right after we posted about Fanjita’s upcoming PSP unbricker for those that bricked their PSP with a bad copy of the M33 custom firmware, Fanjita and his crew upped the ante releasing a program that UNBRICKS ALL SONY PSPs. Wow a strong kudos goes out for this one. No longer will we need to ship bricked PSP’s off to Sony to have them fixed for a cost.

We told you that we’d be releasing an unbricker for the M33 bricks. But then we got to thinking, maybe that just wouldn’t be exciting enough.
Would you like a super special surprise bonus? How about an unbricker for ALL PSPs? Yep, you read that right. We call it “Pandora’s Battery”.
There’s a larger story behind this unbricker, though, and it deserves to be told. It’s the culmination of years of behind-the-scenes research and development by some of the top names in PSP hacking, under the name of the Prometheus project. This group of people, from various development teams, was dedicated to developing and releasing PSP hacks and exploits, with the aim of improving the status of PSP homebrew, and making sure that it was kept alive.
As always you can grab this file from our psp downloads area or by clicking here. For all the details from Fanjita check this out
Comments (576)Just when you thought it couldn’t get any easier, PSP Upgrader/Downgrader v1.11 hits the scene with a vengeance. Bob_joe has released a new version with the added touch of custom firmware Leaked Edition. Users will also notice PSP Upgrader/Downloader v1.11 [Lite] features direct downloading of the required firmware EBOOTs. Otherwise — everything else comes packaged within.

Side note: unpatched GTA:LCS or Lumines UMD is still required depending on which firmware you’re downgrading from, 3.03 or 3.50.

Comments (82)Forum member “Bob Joe” has written a Windows app for complete simplicity when it comes to upgrading and/or downgrading your PSP’s firmware. Over in the forum thread you’ll notice two versions — Lite and Full. While the full version may seem more appealing, it’s quite a hefty download… I suggest using the Lite version — it packages the most recent M33-2 update and is significantly smaller in size. You will however be tasked with the responsibility of downloading the necessary firmware updates; luckily for you, we have them all right here. Other requirements included.

Comments (94)All [unpatched] versions of Lumines are now supported when it comes to downgrading a PSP running firmware 3.50. The N00bz have provided an update to their 3.50 Homebrew-enabler (HEN) / Downgrader which adds final support for the Korean version of Lumines, ULKS46005. At last we can all enjoy homebrew! Except those who have updated to 3.51 — tsk tsk.
Running a lower firmware version (< 3.50)? Update to 3.50, then downgrade! Running a later version (> 3.50)? You’re out of luck, sorry. :(

Comments (54)They said it was coming within the week, and as promised, here it is! The long awaited 3.03 easy-to-use downgrader!
The almighty Noobz have laid out some specific ground-rules:
Everything you need to know concerning a successful downgrade can be found in “Downgrader_HOWTO.txt.” Read them carefully!
Also, for those who fear messing with their PSP’s flash, can take advantage of the full homebrew experience with Homebrew Enabler (HEN) for 3.03. “HEN 303 - the Duff release” works in the same manner as Dark_AleX’s HEN. The requirements: a firmware 3.03 PSP and an unpatched version of Grand Theft Auto: Libery City Stories. Details on installation and usage are inside README.txt.
Warning: After downgrading from 3.03 to 1.5, there are some remnants of 3.03 left in flash. If you later try to re-upgrade to 3.03 and repeat the downgrade, things will break. At some later point, we will work on a cleaner that will remove these extra files. Until then, enjoy! (Don’t worry, upgrading to 3.03 OE firmwares still works fine).
Have fun!

Comments (606)The Noobz have released a new and improved version of Dark_AleX’s TA-082 2.71 downgrader. In addition to supplying a safe and simple method to downgrade your 2.80 [to 1.50] hand held, Homebrew Enabler Revision D (HEN-D) has been ported to the 2.80 platform — in case you don’t care to take the risk that comes with downgrading.
The quoted advantages:
* safety - this downgrader has plenty of safety checks in place to try to avoid accidental bricks (but read the warning below)
* convenience - because this downgrader works with an official firmware EBOOT.PBP file, and includes the TA-082 idstorage changer and HEN files, you don’t need any other files (except for a v1.5 update EBOOT) to perform the downgrade. No more finding a v1.5 owner to get dumpfiles!
* latest TA-082/086 support - the bundled TA-082 registry fixer includes the latest fixes to make sure that USBHost support won’t be messed up.
Here’s how to use it:
That easy!

Comments (123)Exactly two posts down you’ll notice 0okm’s 2.80 -> 2.71 downgrader for TA-079 to TA-086 pcb’s. With many reported successes we now have an Easy Downgrader courtesy of ~maniac~ from Klm Software.
Simply connect your PSP to an available USB port and run the supplied Windows executable. All the required downdater files will be copied to the correct location on your memory stick.

Comments (242)Update: 0okm has released his downgrader to the public. If you know what you’re doing, and you’re willing to take the risk involved with downgrading/flashing, then go forth young Jedi — may the force be with you. Download below.
0okm has released a 2.80 to 2.71 downgrader for motherboard models TA-079 all the way through TA-086. Although in order to get a copy you’ll need to email 0okm requesting it — see source link below. Once retrieved, the steps are relatively straight forward:
You can fetch xLoader here.
Once successfully downgraded you may proceed to FW 1.50 by using one of the supplied downgraders. TA-082 owners, ensure you use Dark_AleX’s TA-082 downgrader to avoid bricking your unit.
Perhaps we’ll see a public release in the near future.
