New to the scene — Team Red Bull PSP — or if you’re Spanish, Equipo Red Bull PSP. Three days back they released a modified version of Dark_AleX’s Despertar del Cementerio v8 allowing you to install Custom Firmware 5.50 the Pandora way. Today, Team Red Bull releases a modified version of Psardumper, which dumps and decrypts [some] 5.50 firmware modules. Allow me to quote Team Red Bull by way of Google Translate:

The PSARDumper of Dark_AleX has been updated so that decrypts files from 5.50 firmware. However, not all decrypts, because we did not reverse engineer the files containing the keys of the firmware, the truth, we do not believe that what we will do and we understand that there are websites, people, … that have already completely decoded.

Released just in time for the holiday season; Dark_AleX’s Despertar del Cementerio v8. It’s like a virtual repair/electronic shop for your PlayStation Portable… Hack your [new] PSP or unbrick the old one you’ve been neglecting; or, if you’re really generous, prepare a fully hacked PSP and give it to a loved one.

You will require a Pandora/Service Mode/JiKick Battery before Despertar del Cementerio‘ing that bad boy. We have several tutorials available for creating one right here (use “Search this Forum”). As well, please ensure you read the included DC8 documentation.

The force is strong with Dark_AleX as he unveils “Despertar del Cementerio” version 7 — the universal unbricker for both Fat and Slim PSP owners.

Recover a PSP turned paperweight, perform an immediate upgrade to custom firmware 4.01 M33-2, and now repair a corrupt or missing idStorage. In addition to all that, version 7 comes with a little finesse allowing control over the PSP/UMD region.

Consult readme.txt for installation and other details concerning the new features. As well, Demonchild keeps an informative DC tutorial. It’s all at your fingertips.

Despertar del Cementerio v7 changes:

• A format flash function has been added which is useful to correct problems for some that get an error when installing 4.01 M33, or to have a custom partitioning of the flash.
• An idstorage tools function has been added. It allows to create a new idstorage (including for first time, the regeneration of region and umd keys), change region (including umd region), or fix wlan mac address.

Note: DCv6 DOES NOT boot on the latest TA-088v3 motherboards.

Despertar del Cementerio v6 changes:

• Now installs 4.01 M33-2
• Change of core. Now it uses 4.01 M33 core. This fixes some TA-88 crashing because of 1.5/3.40 kernel. Note that there are still other kind of newest TA-88 which cannot boot DC at all.
• GUI of both installer and DC itself changed to an XMB looking one.
• Added the option “Test M33″ which boots 4.01 M33-2 from the memory stick.

It’s sad, but true… (Newer?) Slim models utilizing the TA-088 motherboard render Despertar del Cementerio (DC), Pandora, and Time Machine useless — for the time being…

Custom/unsigned IPLs fail to load from the memory stick; that’s likely a result of the kernel 1.50 & 3.40 mix. With that said, we won’t see a new version of DC — Dark_AleX’s universal unbricker — until the revamped core and interface is finished. So in the meantime, be careful.
