AcidMods Releases Their Dual Nub “Razor X” Boards

Posted by greg

Hand-held fanatics went wild in mid ‘07 when AcidMods demonstrated their first dual nub modded PSP—the “Razor.” Today its been released and [as of late] redesigned providing for an easier installation; now code-named, “Razor X.” To quote Cyberpyrot, “this is the final razor design which allows you to assemble the razor before soldering, making installation a lot easier.”

PvP’s Internal USB Mass Storage

Posted by greg

Update: You may have noticed acidmods.com is currently inaccessible. My good friend CyberPyrot says it’s only temporary and they’ll be back online sooner rather than later.

My only question was, do you still have access to the UMD drive? That was quickly answered and sadly you don’t. So if you’re willing to sacrifice that, then you may add 30GB+ of storage — internally! Otherwise you can rig a similar setup externally with an iPod. Yup, an iPod. Tutorial coming soon…

Nice mod, PVP. And I should also give props to CyberPyrot for his feature in February’s issue of Official PlayStation Magazine.

Acidmod’s LED Fader Tutorial

Posted by greg

Interested in modding that PSP of yours? Found by Cyberpyrot and written/installed by *FuFa is the classic LED fader. Surprisingly, this mod isn’t that difficult at all.

Requirements:

  • PSP, of course
  • A Fader PCB from sickmods.net (LED Fader Deluxe)
  • Some kynar wire in different colors would be helpful too
  • A steady hand for soldering

Soldering to the PSP’s mainboard may make some uncomfortable; while it is a risky procedure, there are only 4 wires connecting to the motherboard — nothing too complex. Here’s a video clip of it in action:

New Nub — Code Name (Razor Nub)

Posted by greg

Master of the Mods, CyberPyrot, has granted the community a sneak peak at his new replacement nub for the PSP; code-named, “Razor Nub.” F00 f00 will be the first to showcase the new nub design, and according to the ongoing discussion, its been tested and functions nicely. Perhaps we’ll see more in the coming days; these guys never seem to disappoint.

PSP Sound Reactive LED Mod

Posted by greg

Whether or not you’ve dropped LSD with Acid Rob, this new mod from CyberPyrot, along side the AcidMods R&D Team, will be sure to trip you out. Check out the YouTube-age…

Now that’s some Funky Cold Medina! That is in fact the LED’s illuminating to the beat. All made possible with this chip…

And a little update from CyberPyrot…

This is a mod that has been in the development stage for a long time. Thread after thread I have decided to do the mod to appease our members. There have been many skeptics as to the possibility of this mod, well here it is all internal. The schematics will be posted soon but don’t expect detailed pictures until F00 F00 or Neubit does there version. I will however answer any questions about how this was done.
