Apparently this one, released by Matchung, works better than the previous unofficial CXMB for Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A. And not only that — it properly lists the themes under the appropriate [Settings] menu as shown in the screenshot below.

Included in the package is CXMB itself and two CTF tools — ctf.exe & unctf.exe — for both decompiling and recompiling CTF themes.

Update: Unofficial CXMB v2 from Total_Noob:

• You can disable the theme:
  1. Go to Settings->Theme settings->Theme
  2. Apply the original(Sony) theme
  3. Delete the Custom Theme
  4. It reboot to the Sony theme
• Fixed the wallpaper bug
• Supported all FWs of CXMB 3.3 by Poison and 5.02
• In the zip is also a CTF_converter.exe to convert 5.00 CTF themes for this unofficial cxmb

PSP-3000 and/or PSP-2000 owners with the TA-088v3 board can now load CTF themes without risk of bricking their handheld, thanks to Total_Noob’s unofficial version of Poison’s CXMB for Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A.

Total_Noob mentions 5.02 CTF compatible themes, whether or not 5.00 CTF themes are compatible, that’s a different story. Try it out and leave your experience below. We have some themes available here.

By now you’re feeling good and no doubt digging custom firmware 5.02 GEN-A. Although, perhaps you were a little saddened when you learned CXMB was no longer functional… But that’s all changed; Miriam has released an unofficial version of Poison’s CXMB that is now fully compatible with CFW 5.02 GEN-A. Poison’s CXMB is now 5.00 M33 friendly. So all those [5.00 CTF created] themes you’re browsing here can now be enabled with ease.

Take note: themes created for firmware 5.00 will only work on 5.00. Custom themes for older firmwares are not compatible.

Yes yes y’all… Just what you were waiting for — Poison’s CXMB version 3.2 with official support for custom firmware 4.01 M33. Customize it, theme it, skin it — make it yours.

CXMB v3.2 changes:

• Add 4.01 compatibility.
• Select the random.ctf, then cxmb will randomly apply your themes in /PSP/THEME/
• Compile universal binary, cxmb.prx should work on 3.71/3.80/3.90/4.01
• Fix some wrong io operation (I wrote some sceIoClose where there should be sceIoDclose)
• Clean up sources

Then you best be downloading this CXMB package with 50+ themes. Add a whole new look and feel to the XMB.

To install: copy the themes, poisonhzkj’s cxmb prx plugin, and backgrounds to the corresponding directory on your memory stick. The extracted file structure is self explanatory — just be sure to not overwrite ms0:/seplugins/vsh.txt if you have other plugins installed; instead, add the appropriate line manually, “ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx.”

Set your new custom theme by browsing to System -> Theme Settings. Enjoy!
