CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV.D Released

greg | September 16, 2008

In the early hours of the misty morning, Weltall once again sent word concerning his latest version of CWCHEAT. Revision D’s primary focus: optimizations. And in addition to the various optimizations, which ultimately reduced the overall binaries by ~ 15KB, 0.2.2 REV.D features improved usability — check the change log below.

Since it’s been awhile; the CWCHEAT synopsis –

Cheat all your favourite PSP and PSX games directly by discovering your own, or using known Action Replay, Game Shark, CAETLA, and Xploder codes. Installation, along with instructions to use memory card and USB support, are detailed in text files included with the RAR archive. Furthermore, CWCHEAT is bundled with RemaPSP allowing you to remap PSP buttons and controls.

Take your time, read the documentation; CWCHEAT is a powerful plugin.

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV.D changes:

  • [ALL] Now > 4.x firmwares are checked for the sony msfatmod thread suspend bug and the check of the memory stick space is disabled to avoid a freeze situation.
  • [ALL] Optimizations in the firmware checking
  • [ALL] Added support in the gui for setting a button combination to open the text reader directly
  • [ALL] Added the possibility to have cwcheat look after a certain address and show changes happening to it (you can access it from the cheat search menu)
  • [ALL] Updated the pointer searcher to allow use from the command line. These are the arguments it takes in order to use it this way:
    -cli <dump1> <dump2> <address dump1> <address dump2>
  • [ALL] updated the toolchain to the latest version
  • [ALL] Various optimizations which allowed to reduce the size of the binary

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. C Released

greg | June 9, 2008

Weltall returns with a brand new CWCHEAT revision. REV “C” primarily focuses on cleaning up the situation created with REV “B” and fixing other various problems. It’s all detailed in the changelog below.

And for those who continue asking the question, “is there a Game Shark equivalent to cheat PSP games?” Yes, you’re looking at it. Cheat each and every PSP title, as well as PSOne game under POPS emulation, using Weltall’s CWCHEAT. Read the documentation to get started.

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. C:

  • [ALL] Fixed a timing bug which could lead to the dump function not working after enabling the usb mass device. this is because the memory stick device wasn’t mounted when the dump was taking place: making the function fail.
  • [ALL] Removed some optimizations which made some regressions (rev b’)
  • [ALL] Changed slightly the behaviour of pointers codes. now the q part is effectively useful by itself (this change is be needed for upcoming cheats)
  • [ALL] Now if connected to a hotspot like connection (so a connection requiring the browser to login in the network), the db downloader will automatically open the browser to let you login upon connection. Making so possible to download the database through this type of hotspot (available only on 3.x build)

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. B Released

greg | April 13, 2008

Update: If CWCHEAT keeps crashing, please re-download the archive. Weltall has reverted an optimization which seems to fix the problem.

Weltall with probably one of the smallest CWCHEAT changelogs I’ve ever witnessed… But that proves your girlfriend was right — big/good things do come in small packages. The big thing, aside from the classic set of bug fixes and optimizations — Weltall now has RemaPSP fully working under POPS emulation. So for the person who was asking in our forums or comments awhile back, wherever it was, RemaPSP supports turbo/rapid-fire and macros — now under POPS — that’s what you need.

And for those who don’t know what CWCHEAT or RemaPSP is: CWCHEAT enables endless cheating of any PSP/PSOne game, it works similar to the “Game Genie” for Nintendo, plus much more; RemaPSP allows remapping of PSP buttons and controls.

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. B changes:

  • [ALL] fixed a bug in RemaPSP about buffernegative functions which returned invalid values being returned.
  • [POPS] Now REMAPSP works perfectly in POPS
  • [ALL] Various optimizations in the remaPSP initialization code which reduced the size of more than 200 bytes
  • [ALL] Some optimizations in the memory edit/disasm functions which reduced the size of more than 32 bytes
  • [ALL] Added a check against tries to open a non existent text file with the text reader
  • [ALL] Various size optimizations in the cheat search functions which reduced the size of more than 232bytes
  • [ALL] Now it’s possible to define a key combination to access directly the text reader from in-game. You can define the buttons by adding them to the “TEXTREAD BTN = ” entry in the configuration file.
  • [ALL] Optimized the functions checking for key combinations. This reduced the size of more than 818bytes

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. A Released

greg | March 26, 2008

Weltall with CWCHEAT 0.2.2 Revision “A” — for Awesome!

Some God of War cheats…

– infinite double jumps by dc4
0×6033614C 0×00000001
0×00020002 0×000002C8
0×30000060 0×00000000

– infinite health proper by vosman
0×60346B00 0×42C80000
0×00020003 0×00000064
0×200000A8 0×20000068

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 REV. A:

  • [ALL] fixed a bug in the difference search which could lead to an evaluation error making the difference function unusable in the case that the game allocates more than entire user ram – 50kbs
  • [ALL] Removed allocation of user ram for the difference search. This should increase compatibility with never games and reduced the plugin size of about 200bytes.
  • [ALL] Various optimizations in the controller management in the menus, additionally some menus now auto repeat just like most. This allowed to reduce the size of the plugin of 632bytes
  • [GAME] Added multilevel pointer codes. This will allow you to track a point in ram by going trough a series of pointer like those seen in god of war. this is the code type:
    • 0×6aaaaaaa 0xvvvvvvvv
    • 0xqqqxnnnn 0xiiiiiiii
    • 0xSwwwwwww 0xSwwwwwww
    • a = the starting pointer
    • v = the value to store at the found point at the end
    • q = the offset to add to a each loop(x4) most probably you want this to be zero in this case
    • x = pointer type (check the normal pointers)
    • i = offset to add/subtract (depending to x) from the last pointed area in the pointed chains to find were to put v
    • n = number of times to point (you must start counting from one, so if the level of pointer you want to do is 2 you put here 2 if it’s 3 you put 3, the first pointer is considered first level, so if you put two offsets in the third line the value you need is 3)
    • S = offset type to find next pointer (2 for normal offset(+w), 3 for inverse offset(-w))
    • w = offset from the last pointed area to find the next pointer
  • [GAME] some performance optimizations to avoid unnecessary repeated loops and assignments in the pointer codes
  • [ALL] reworked, yes again, the db downloader now the 3.x version is libhttp based so it should work better. Plus various enhancements were added and some additional checks and functions. No changes for the 1.x version.
  • [ALL] removed some repeated code this reduced the size of the plugin of 916bytes
  • [ALL] now last text file opened is reopened when you go to the text reader

CWCHEAT 0.2.2 Released

greg | March 22, 2008

Weltall delivers another hefty bunch of changes for CWCHEAT. Tagged as version 0.2.2, CWCHEAT not only offers the ability to cheat each and every PSP / PSOne-emulated title, you may also search for and create your own cheats. Aiding in the cheat discovery/creation process, Weltall has bundled a new GTK-built interface for Windows and Linux — “CWCHEAT Pointer searcher.”

Further notable changes — the DB download tool has been refined and ported to the 3.x kernel. As well, if Dark_AleX’s msfatmod patch for 3.8x/3.9x M33 was installed, the memory stick information is again available; however, that remains disabled for those who haven’t installed the patch.

Please read over the included documentation to get started.

Props Weltall, great work.

CWCHEAT 0.2.0 Released!

greg | December 23, 2007

Weltall spreading some holiday joy with a new release of CWCHEAT — the universal tool for cheating each and every PSP game or PSOne title under POPS-emulation. And more!

Weltall’s changelog summary:

As for the loading process now the drive is checked in a better way this should make startup faster while making it even more safer than before. This new way allowed also to make the checking for new disk automatic in loaders like irshell and usb loaders so it’s not needed anymore to use a combination to make it reload the database and disk id (the manual way will still be available in this release but will be removed if this new method will work fine).

Now the clock function will allow you to change up to 333/166 even in 3.71+ firmwares.

As for the latest big improvement: now the text for the various translation were all stored on a mysql database this allowed a better and faster generation of files needed to do translation so i was able to make all the various texts which were left before only in english translatable and will be same for the future text which will be added, even adding new languages or changing size of the various strings is extremely faster. As a side effect of this old translation files (.lng) are invalid now so you need to grab a new one from the language folder of the package and put it as cwcheat.lng in the folder /seplugins/cwcheat/.

For 3.71m33 users you should have at least 3.71m33-3 to be able to use cwcheat in the 3.71m33 series because of missing patches in the older firmwares. Users of older firmware versions (3.60, 3.52, 3.51, 3.40)
aren’t affected by this.

CWCHEAT 0.1.8 Rev. A Released!

greg | July 7, 2007

weltall droppin’ CWCheat revisions like they’re hot… Comin’ atcha is 0.1.8 Revision A — the first of many to follow I’m sure. Lets take a peek and see what we’ve got…

CHANGELOG:

  • [ALL] now there is an header with the index (addr, +byte, ASCII) in the memory editor
  • [ALL] now it’s possible to choose if ASCII should be shown on screen in the memory editor with ASCII ENABLE = 0/1 in the CWCHEAT.INI/CWCHEATPOPS.INI
  • [ALL] now it’s possible to choose the number of bytes shown on screen in the memory editor (0-13 with ASCII enabled, 0-17 with ASCII disabled)with MEMEDIT BYTES= # where # is the number of bytes
  • [ALL] added checks in the memory editor for the starting adress to avoid going out of range
  • [ALL] added effectively L/R scrolling support in the memory editor. they will scroll of -/+ 0×10000
  • 0000017 [ALL] added a simple text insertion method which you can navigate with LEFT/RIGHT and change text with UP/DOWN. Middle dots are considered end of line, everything modified after then will be discarded.
  • 0000017 [ALL] Now it’s possible to edit cheat names. To do so press R TRIGGER + CROSS while selecting the cheat name you want to change. To discard changes press O (or X if you swapped buttons) and to confirm changes press X (or O if you swapped buttons)
  • [ALL] now the cheat search menu will allow the user to press UP when selecting the first option to get to the latest one and vice-versa (just like most of the other menus)
  • [ALL] new options in the cheat search menu: start text search and continue cheat search. They are meant to start and continue a search for a text
  • 0000017 [ALL] Added a text search system. It supports up to 30 chars, and can search ASCII/UNICODE/ASCII+UNICODE encoding and can be case sensitive/insensitive
  • [ALL] The text search system can autosense if it has to make Unicode or ASCII codes (Unicode codes skips the second byte). A code line is made for each char and the current char is copied as value.
  • [ALL] changed the space used by the db reading functions to < = 128kb (this space is allocated during boot up and freed after that)

Ooooo! Three interesting things to look at:

  1. more flexible memory editor, customizable via cwcheat config files
  2. text searcher will allow the user to search for text up to 30 chars in ASCII/UNICODE/ASCII+UNICODE and perform a case sensitive/insensitive search.
  3. now it’s possible to rename cheats in the cheat selection screen

Cheat on!
