Yacc v0.4.0.1 Released — CSO Compressor!
greg | November 20, 2007
kapoue3’s “Yet Another CSO Compressor” (YACC) is, as you know, the acting Windows front end for CisoPlus — the coolest, most in style way to compress your ISO images — to the max!

The latest version bundles a lot of internal changes and improvements to the overall process. kapoue3 has also added a system information tabsheet for Windows XP and higher. You’ll notice two new skins courtesy of yourpsp.ir and Dorian8821. Translations have been further revamped; specifically Persian by yourpsp.ir. A lot of time has been spent implementing an Arabic character set in a non-Unicode Yacc. So kudos to everyone involved, you guys rock!

Comments (6)Yacc 0.3.9.6 Released
greg | September 4, 2007
Comin’ comin’ atcha, kapoue3’s gonna wetcha, with a new release of Yet Another CSO Compressa.
On the real, kapoue3 has released Yacc 0.3.9.6 — the graphical “CsoPlus!” front end for Windows. Newcomers may not be familiar with Yacc, considering we covered its last release in June. Don’t be mistaken, this isn’t your typical CSO tool. Kapoue3 has added his own touch be fully extending the feature set. See the download page and CisoPlus for details. Enjoy!
Added:
- Dutch translation by ScarHand
- “No-redirection mode”: Yacc display the MS-DOS window when a compressor is launched. This can solve some graphical bugs on some Custom Windows (Note that Yacc seems to be not compatible with some software like topdesk)
- Add a “lock” to prevent the compression of a file which is already being decompressed and vice versa
Fixed:
- Yacc was not able to decompress with CisoPlus, it compressed another time with the CSO file
- Error is the CisoPlus’ extensions were not well-written
- Translations updated and corrected
- Other small errors detected by ScarHand
- pipe.exe v1.4

Comments (8)YACC v0.3.9.3 Released
greg | June 7, 2007
Yet Another CSO Compressor (YACC) now includes a Portuguese interface translation courtesy of psportugal’s Trop.
kapoue3, the author of Yacc, mentions there are no other visible changes. But! That’s not to say other improvements haven’t been made… Contrary to that, much code has been modified for the obvious reasons — stability, optimization, etc… So if you experience any odd behaviour as a result, please report it. Otherwise, enjoy converting all your [legit] ISO images to the compressed CSO (or JSO) format.

Comments (24)CisoPlus v1.0.8 Is Available!
greg | May 1, 2007
kapoue3 has implemented yet another genius method used for optimizing compressed ISO images, I’m speaking CSO, yo. That rhymed.
Although the CSO compressed image format is nothing new, kapoue3 has done a terrific job tweaking & adding new functionality. Yup, CisoPlus is the key — to get the most out of your dumped UMD and memory stick storage capacity. Did that just rhyme again?
New in CisoPlus v1.0.8 is the option “-ext” allowing you to specify certain files that you wish to place in non-compressed (NC) areas. Files are specified by extension, so for example, to put all *.prx and *.xpac files in NC areas, you’d execute something like this (from command line):
cisoplus -com -MT -aud -vid -ext.prx.xpac “myfile.iso” “myfile.cso”
Included in the download are both binaries for Windows & Linux users.

Comments (18)CisoPlus! v1.0.7 Released
greg | April 18, 2007
kapoue3 has released another [minor] update to CisoPlus!
1.0.7 is solely a bug fix version, as per kapoue3’s kind message:
I’ve corrected a bug when using the -vid & -aud options without using the -MT option.
Now, CisoPlus! can use the DAX’s trick in both Multithread and No-Multithread version.
Thanks to axeps2 for finding this bug.
…Should do the trick for anyone who experienced problems relating to that bug. And to quickly recap if you’re a newcomer: This command line tool enhances BOOSTER’s original CSO compression format; CisoPlus is responsible for converting PSP compliant ISO images to CSO format with support for many extended functions…
- Compression and estimation are a bit faster in Multithread mode
- Command-line options have changed: there are switches. Please read the full help for the new syntax
- -est_mt flag for threaded estimation
- place audio and/or video files in non-compressed areas of the image to help reduce lag. See the [media] argument.
- there are still the original compression/decompression functions of Booster
- there is a optimized compression version for all CPU
- a simulation mode to estimate quickly the final compression rate without writing the CSO (up to 10 times faster)
- threshold which allows (as Dax) to increase the size of the CSO slightly but reduce the lags during the game (e.g. GTA). This option gives as good results as the DAX and the CSO can work on custom firmware or devhook without plugins
- a special optimized compression for DualCore Cpu owners. It can be twice faster than the initial version.
