The name speaks for itself — Cpasjuste’s Custom Firmware Extender… Extend the functionality of custom firmware M33 or GEN using the included CFE plug-ins. Change the CPU speed while under the XMB or in-game, listen to your own tunes in-game, take screenshots at anytime, output the PSP screen to a monitor and stream ISOs/homebrew over USB, change or mute the volume of each audio channel, display system information… And really, the documentation details it all.

Experience a whole new ball game by extending the functionality of your custom firmware with Cpasjuste’s appropriately titled bundle — Custom Firmware Extender (CFE) version 3.0.

CFE is essentially a collection of sought-after plug-ins intended for use with the PSP Slim. Fat users may take advantage of the VSH plug-in; sadly, game is said not to work.

Bored of the plain ol’ XMB? Perhaps you desire refined or more control over organizing/managing that mess of data on your memory stick. For those who like to keep things organized in a clean and functional manner, you best check out MyPspMenu.
“MyPspMenu” is a shell stemming from the well-known and much respected developer, Cpasjuste. It’s also been submitted into our Homebrew Idol competition as entry #15.

- Filer explorer:
- Explore memory stick, umd, flash0, flash1, , nethost0, usbhost0, iso, cso.

Comments (22)Music PRX for CFW 3.90 M33
greg | May 1, 2008
For some reason or other Sony has yet to incorporate a simple means of playing your own tunes while in game — both on the PSP and PS3. But, thanks to the Homebrew Gods, this is possible after all — on 3.90+!
Cpasjuste has recently ported the Music PRX plugin to custom firmware 3.90 M33. Enjoy your own mp3s and atrac3 files straight from your memory stick’s MUSIC directory. Cpasjuste also notes, “this has been tested on a 3.90 M33-3 slim PSP, WITHOUT the fatmsmod patch applied.”
If you’re running an older custom firmware, use this version.

Comments (63)Custom Firmware Extender v2.2 Released *Updated*
greg | February 22, 2008
Update: 2.2 is out…
- The Time Machine reboot function should now be fixed … stupid error I made. Note that the functions only made for use with NAND firmware and 150_340 one, with the TM files provided in this archive. If you want to use it with another firmware than 150_340, you will have to edit your firmware files manually to add the cfe_vsh.prx and cfe_game.prx plugins (TM/fw/pspbtcnf.txt and TM/fw/pspbtcnf_game.txt).
- Fixed some little bugs in the music player, and found the reason why it was not working for all the people. If the psp hang while loading the music menu, you should apply the dark_alex 3.71 fatmsmod.prx patch, it should fix all the problem’s.
Cpasjuste has again updated Custom Firmware Extender. Most notably — courtesy of joek2100 — CFE v2.1 adds in game access to your MP3s. Now enjoy your own tracks while doing whatever else on your PSP.
CFE v2.1 changes:
- Added music playback based on music.prx by joek2100. (only tested under 3.90fw), default combo button for the music menu is NOTE+SQUARE.
- Changed the way we reboot from one firmware to another firmware with Time Machine, the original configuration file is now backup and restored at each boot.

Comments (40)Custom Firmware Extender v2.0
greg | February 19, 2008
Still rockin’ Custom Firmware Extender (CFE) 1.9.2? If so, it’s time to update… Cpasjuste has released CFE version 2.0, adding support for Dark_AleX’s latest work — both custom firmware 3.90 M33 and TimeMachine.
As the name implies, “Custom Firmware Extender” is a collection of useful 3rd party plugins, which in effect extend the functionality of whatever custom firmware you may be running. Full feature set can be read on the download landing page.
CFE v2.0 changes: (from the README)
- Removed usb/wifi ISO streaming for multiples reason, principally it was not the goal of cfe at the beginning. There is now “USB ISO Loader” by psp.padawan that will do the job well. You should soon be able to grab it from http://www.mydedibox.fr/~psppadawan/
- 390m33-2 and 150_340TM custom firmware now supported (cfe should now work on any firmware), note that on the 150_340 time machine firmware, the ftpd server will not work, and remotejoy under ISO/HOMEBREWS won’t work too for now. All other functions should work well.
- Time Machine compatibility: You can now reboot “on the fly” from one time machine firmware to another, just edit the cfe.config file under “ms0:/seplugins/cfe/” to choose which firmware you will reboot to by pressing a combo button. Format is the same as the original time machine configuration file. Default configuration is NOTE+LEFT => reboot to 150_340 firmware, NOTE+RIGHT => normal reboot (NAND).
- Remotejoy fixed to work on both slim and phat psp, without savegame bugs, so it should now be completely usable for gaming and recording.
- Tested on 390m33-2 and 150_340TM firmware on SLIM and PHAT psp.
- And more, can’t remember all the work i have done on this

- Fixed a stupid bug with nethost in cfe_vsh that was causing to always connect to the computer ip address \\\”192.168.1.2\\\”.

- Added iso and homebrew redirection via WIFI with the use of dark alex nethostfs optimized by ahman. (iso streaming is not really usable due to speed transfer)

- Maybe more…
Cpasjuste has bundled and released a collection of very handy PRX modules, better known as plugins, responsible for extending the functionality of custom firmware 3.71 M33.
