Take a break from that Kit Kat bar and upgrade to Game Categories v9. It adds this new categorization mode called “Content Browser” that is no doubt, in my opinion, the best mode. It’s so seamless, so fine — Bubbletune’s Game Categories v9.

Game Categories Revised v8 —
It’s the same must-have plugin you know and love, only this time, Context Menu Mode has been improved and now displays more than just 4 items. As well, v8 adds the ability to hide the uncategorized category should your homebrew be, well, uncategorized… And if it is, I gotta ask: Hello McFly!? Anybody home? Why are you using this plugin in the first place? That’s a rhetorical question, so whatever the circumstance, enjoy Bubbletune’s Game Categories v8.
Uncategorized ‘brew can be hidden by creating an empty file called “gc_hide_uncategorized.txt” in ms0:/seplugins.
Game Categories v8 Changes:
- UTF-8 support was not correctly implemented for language files, fixed.
- Improved Context Menu Mode, now shows a larger number of items instead of only four.
- Added ability to completely hide uncategorized even if there are files floating around (see readme for instructions).
- Tried to fix a rather strange crash that occured in all sorts of instances.

Comments (13)Firmware 5.00 VSH Module Descrambler & Scramble Patcher Released
greg | October 20, 2008
Simplifying the whole theme creation process for firmware 5.00 is Bubbletune & Davee with two handy tools — VSH Module Descrambler (for Windows) and Scramble Patcher (for the PSP itself).
VSH Descrambler:
In 5.00 Sony took a different approach by no longer storing the floats in separate words, but instead loading them using opcodes. This has made it harder to impossible for theme developers to find these floats, so we’ve decided to develop a tool to take it apart, and put it back together.
In order to use this utility, you must descramble the PRX file, and a file containing only the floats in the PRX will be returned. Modify whatever you want there, and then use the application to rescramble it again. All should be pretty straightforward.
Get it? Got it? Good. Onto the next…
Scramble Patcher:
This plugin allows to patch modules on-the-fly with the scrambles in ms0:/scrambles/*. To use this is easy, all you have to do is get a scramble for the VSH Module Descrambler and put it in the ms0:/scrambles/ folder named the same as the module which it came from (vshmain scramble becomes vshmain.bin) with a .bin extension.
Using this allows quick turn around times for finding values in the scrambles. You can simply just modify it from the memory stick rather than descramble it from the prx, apply edit, rescramble and then flashing it.
So there you have it. Each download comes with its own readme for further clarification. Happy theming!
