Another day, another Bookr-Mod release… Bookr-Mod is the obvious derivative of Nguyen Chi Tam’s Bookr — the homebrew PDF/DJVU/TXT reader for your PSP.

Changes in build 2009-07-09

• Fixed an issue of missing the last line in plain text files.

Changes in build 2009-07-08

• Compiled/packed with latest psp toolchain.
• Fixed a bug of crash on pressing square button on the first use.
• Made zooming/rotation faster when Fast Image is enabled (i.e. one of one screen/four screens/full modes.)
• Optimized memory usage. Hence some PDFs with large JPEG2000 pics could be opened now.

Around 12 hours ago, on one of the best party days in Canada, a new version of the enhanced Bookr was released. What’s new? I’m not sure — no change log was provided. So whatever the changes, you’ll figure it out — it’s in your hands now.

A coder who seemingly goes by the number 2525275 has shared a modified version of Nguyen Chi Tam’s Bookr.

Bookr provides the means of viewing PDF, TXT, PalmDoc, DJVU, and HTML documents on your PSP. The version below is compiled for custom firmware 4.xx/5.xx. Should you need a different version, like 1.50 perhaps, then I would suggest you visit the Google Code project page.

Bookr-Mod 20090623:

• Support much more PDFs (with large images, JPEG2000, JBIG2, AES-encrpted, etc.)
• Support PDF Outlines
• Unicode support in PDF, PDF Outlines and file chooser.
• Some new options to control scroll speed of d-pad and analog stick.
• A simple thumbnail to indicate current position in page.
• Zoom in to specified width and position.
• Bug fixes.

Bookr v8.1 changes:

• Fixed crash when opening PDF file which has many pages.
• Enhance MuPDF, uses less memory.
• Merged with latest source code from CVS with following enhancements:
  • DJVU support by Yang.Hu
