Third Parties Decide if Games will be Released on PSN Store

That's right, you heard me. Third Party developers get to decide whether or not their new games will be available on the Playstation Store. What this means for happy new PSP Go owners is that there will be absolutely no way you will ever get to play any game that isn't available on the Store based on the publishers discretion. Sony doesn't enforce this on any of it's third party developers.

After SCEA chief Eric Lempel announced that there would be no UMD conversion program, people took a step back and re-analyzed their perceptions of what the PSP Go would bring to the table. Many thought Sony was out of their mind, once again not taking into consideration what their faithful followers wanted to see with the new handheld.

Digital Rentals for the PSP Go?

An interesting little feature was discovered recently in firmware 6.10 for the PSP. It would appear as though you can only sort your games by expiration date, not by groups in folders like the PS3 does. Strange, I was under the impression that a demo or fully purchased game was mine for as long as I please. So what's with the expiration date?

Sony's PSP Go was (officially) announced at E3 in June. The PSP Go is about 52% smaller and weighs about 43% less than the PSP-3000. The screen now slides up for a TV/Movie display hiding the buttons and Bluetooth capabilities have now been introduced as well.

16,000 Digital Downloads on PSP Go Launch

Better hope your credit card is in good standing. The PSPGo; set to launch in North America on October 1st, will have approximately 16,000 digital downloads available right out of the gate. The majority of these will be movies at 2,300 and TV shows at 13,000.

Let the boycott parade continue. A rumour has surfaced indicating that EB games in Australia is now jumping on the PSPGo boycott bandwagon. If you go to their site, there is no mention of the PSPGo even though it’s being released in a week.

Sony has made it clear that their version of the iPhones "App Store"; that will facilitate mini bite sized downloads, will focus exclusively on games, not applications.
John Koller, head of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment of America stated the following.
it's absolutely not an app store.....We're not going to have, 'Find Your Parked Car' and those kinds of things.

PSP Trophies: Technical Challenges Pose It Unlikely...

I say unlikely because I don't see it happening, not anytime soon anyway... Being that the PSP platform is hacked to the max, the hardcore low-level dudes will no doubt figure it out, and soon thereafter you'll see homebrew and plugins and everyone sporting platinum. Sony will definitely need to craft some crafty code to secure a fair PSP trophy system.

In the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, explains why adding a second analog nub to the fully remodeled PSP just wasn't in the books. And moreover: "...some of the developers are doing quite a nice job translating the second analog functionality to different buttons." Yeah, I wonder how that'll pan out...

PSP Go Clocking in at 480 Mhz?

Earlier reports from Sony claimed the PSP Go was essentially just a hardware upgrade and there wouldn't be any more juice than the previous version. A closer look seems to tell a different story. Documents from the Federal Communications Commission test reports indicate that the PSP Go actually maxes out at 480 MHz.
