A good laugh is always healthy… Stay in good health; check this Mega64 video.

I bet this’ll happen, or something vastly similar, to some kid somewhere come Christmas morning. Hopefully it gets YouTubed too.

Game Categories Revised v7 Released *Updated*

greg | October 13, 2009

Game Categories v7 Update:

  • Should have finally isolated and fixed the crash that occured on some PSP’s when pressing triangle on an icon, sorry for the many updates.

Game Categories v6 Update:

  • Did attempt to fix a few crashes, although I am unable to reproduce the bug on my own PSP.
  • Changed name of config file to avoid issues with the new format (old config will be removed).

Awww yeeeah! It’s Bubbletune back again with the #1 PSP plugin — Game Categories Revised v5. I’ll let the video do the talking… For real, check this out –

You can’t tell me you don’t want it… So fresh and so clean with its seamless XMB integration… Nice work Bubbletune.

Game Categories v5 Changes:

  • Fixed some firmware incompatibilities and related issues.
  • A large number of internal changes aiming at memory conservation.
  • If you change language in vsh the corresponding game_categories_xx.txt is now immediatly loaded.
  • Themes which use space padding to position text should now be handled correctly.
  • Introduced general support for UTF-8, including language files.
  • Normal menu on Triangle for Game didn’t work in Context Mode, fixed.
  • English and Japanese language codes were swapped internally, fixed.
  • Plugin was causing an odd crash in Internet Search, fixed.

PlayStation Store Blocked on 5.50 GEN-B

greg | October 13, 2009

What?! Did this just happen? After receiving an email from mist3rgrinch saying PlayStation Store access had been cut off for 5.50 GEN users I equipped my PSP-2000 and tried myself…

So be it — 5.50 GEN-B2 — access denied. Who’s got the workaround? The ol’ version.txt trick doesn’t work.

5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter v4 Released

greg | October 8, 2009

Just a little update from Yoshihiro… Improved compatibility (for 6.xx) and bug fixes now leaves us at 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter v4.

Again, Games Decrypter decrypts and patches EBOOT.BIN files from 5.55 or 6.00 required games. Once said and done you’ll be playing these titles on custom firmware 5.50 or 5.03 GEN. And if you want to take it one step further, play on 5.00 M33 using mc707’s app.

Update: Apparently v4 makes ‘em work on all custom firmwares. See Sh4d0w’s comment.

Dashhacks Tagging Contest: The Results Are In…

greg | October 7, 2009

Update: Everything checks out… Congratulations, oZmighty — the PSPgo is all yours. Email your shipping info if you haven’t already.

All right… First, thanks to everyone who participated in the Dashhacks “tagging” (and I use that term loosely) contest. Five fortunate folk, who will receive a PSPgo (PSP-N1001), were chosen based on creativity and pure awesomeness.

Tweeted were several entries — some super awesome, some awesome, some questionable… But whatever the case — you’re all winners. That’s right — just for sending something in you may claim a free Dashhacks T-shirt. Please email admin @ dashhacks (.com) with your twitter name, your address, desired size (L or XL only), and whether you want white on black or black on white.

Now for the PSPgo winners:

  1. xctive [ 1 2 ]
  2. roth77 [ 1 2 3 4 ]
  3. vlad_drakul [ 1 2 3 ]
  4. systom [ 1 2 3 4 ]

Congratulations guys, and girls.

You can view all entries by clicking here.

But wait… That’s only 4. Yeah, I know this… My colleagues and I are here deadlocked… So we’re entering sudden death. Let me give you a little background info:

Twitterer contestant, acessage, sent this in… At first glance it’s somewhat believable; however, upon further investigation this Atom Smasher’s Road Construction Sign Generator turned up. Declared a winner, but as we sit here and discuss, some believe the win should be retracted.

Tsk tsk…

With that said: we’ve compiled a small list of people who actually went out(side) and did something… Not that we don’t appreciate the photoshops — they’re cool too.

Sudden Death: Who Gets the GO?

  • oZmighty [entry] (30%, 177 Votes)
  • Pepelluepe [entry and more...] (29%, 175 Votes)
  • OR… Let acessage keep it. (19%, 112 Votes)
  • chAosdajuggalo [entry] (13%, 77 Votes)
  • darkbrian88 [entry and more...] (9%, 54 Votes)

Total Voters: 595

Loading ... Loading ...

The sudden death showdown will run for exactly 24 hours. Whoever takes in the most votes takes home the PSPgo. That simple.

Thanks again.

And you may want to keep following us for future events.
