Dashhacks Tagging Contest: The Results Are In…

greg | October 7, 2009

Update: Everything checks out… Congratulations, oZmighty — the PSPgo is all yours. Email your shipping info if you haven’t already.

All right… First, thanks to everyone who participated in the Dashhacks “tagging” (and I use that term loosely) contest. Five fortunate folk, who will receive a PSPgo (PSP-N1001), were chosen based on creativity and pure awesomeness.

Tweeted were several entries — some super awesome, some awesome, some questionable… But whatever the case — you’re all winners. That’s right — just for sending something in you may claim a free Dashhacks T-shirt. Please email admin @ dashhacks (.com) with your twitter name, your address, desired size (L or XL only), and whether you want white on black or black on white.

Now for the PSPgo winners:

  1. xctive [ 1 2 ]
  2. roth77 [ 1 2 3 4 ]
  3. vlad_drakul [ 1 2 3 ]
  4. systom [ 1 2 3 4 ]

Congratulations guys, and girls.

You can view all entries by clicking here.

But wait… That’s only 4. Yeah, I know this… My colleagues and I are here deadlocked… So we’re entering sudden death. Let me give you a little background info:

Twitterer contestant, acessage, sent this in… At first glance it’s somewhat believable; however, upon further investigation this Atom Smasher’s Road Construction Sign Generator turned up. Declared a winner, but as we sit here and discuss, some believe the win should be retracted.

Tsk tsk…

With that said: we’ve compiled a small list of people who actually went out(side) and did something… Not that we don’t appreciate the photoshops — they’re cool too.

Sudden Death: Who Gets the GO?

  • oZmighty [entry] (30%, 177 Votes)
  • Pepelluepe [entry and more...] (29%, 175 Votes)
  • OR… Let acessage keep it. (19%, 112 Votes)
  • chAosdajuggalo [entry] (13%, 77 Votes)
  • darkbrian88 [entry and more...] (9%, 54 Votes)

Total Voters: 595

Loading ... Loading ...

The sudden death showdown will run for exactly 24 hours. Whoever takes in the most votes takes home the PSPgo. That simple.

Thanks again.

And you may want to keep following us for future events.

PSPgo Save Game (User Mode) Exploit

greg | October 3, 2009

What a lovely surprise to wake up to… No, not a stripper, I wish… I’m talking about FreePlay’s newest YouTube videos. YouTubers who are subscribed to FreePlay’s channel already know what they’re about to watch. Those who aren’t, well, have a gander at this:

And this one too… The PSP gets g0wned, accompanied by an awesome soundtrack.

FreePlay also mentions:

(Scratch some of that… You can read/write flash1)

No, it’s not going to lead to custom firmware, piracy, or a Pandora for the Go. It can’t write to flash0, and it even seems to be unable to overwrite the system settings, which was always unblocked before on the older systems. It’s user-mode only.

Regardless — it’s something all right. Perhaps we’ll see more GO ‘brew sooner rather than later. And as always, good lookin’ out FreePlay.

PSPgo Welcomes the TA-091 and TA-094

greg | October 2, 2009

I picked up my PSPgo the other day, it came shipped with firmware 5.70, and a mandatory update forced me to 6.10 as soon as I got it online… But what I didn’t know, behind all its elegance was a TA-091 motherboard, or wait… Maybe it’s a TA-094. Whatever the case – they’re new – they’re locked down. We go-getters might be waiting awhile… Keep your go close; keep your fat/slim closer.

PSP TA-091 and PSP TA-098

More TA-091 / TA-094 pics can be viewed following the source link.

And on another note, the fine people who’ve participated in the Dashhacks contest; we’ll be shipping yours out this coming week.
