I can't wait to make custom gameboots...I've already got 3 second avi clips lined up and ready to convert....granted they will prolly sit on my desktop for the next 6 months. But here's to hoping.
edit: With the advent of Dark_alex's POC custom firmware I was particulary intrigued by his recovery feature with this paragraph listed: This would allow to recover potential bricks caused by the writing of bad fonts/videos/sounds… to the flash. (Note that this wouldn’t allow to recover critical things like the overwriting of critical prx’s).
Here's to not having to buy a modchip for not testing an opening_plugin.rco in devhook first! Hurrah, <3 Dark.

You can make gameboots with perfect timing, etc it's just depends on how you edit the video. The first attempts I made turned out looking like shit because I was using "total video converter" to convert .gif to .avi to .pmf and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong til I realized t.v.c. couldnt convert .gif files worth a shit.
I think the average gameboot can be a max of slightly under 3sec or 3 seconds exactly. I'ma mess with it more til I can get down a method to convert .gif to .pmf files flawlessly its really pretty easy once u got it down.
