Official Megaman Powered Up on 1.5 thread

GUIDE:

UMD Emulator, MPH Game Loader:
-download the latest version of both of these:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/348
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/92
-If you read the readme for mph game loader 1.1, which you should be following, you will see that you need flash0 and flash1 folders containing higher firmware files. You can download the ones that I used to test here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X4680NSO (courtesy of contra24 from the first post in this thread: http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=23929)

Preparing your Megaman Powered Up .iso:
-First you will need one. Of course, I can't post it, so you will need to dump your own from a legally purchased Megaman Powered Up UMD, or.... ahem.
-Download UMDgen:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/194
-Download this rar: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OCK25QR0 It is a compressed rar archive containing the replacement prx files and boot.bin. If you don't know how to use rar files, I recommend googling WinRAR and downloading that.
-You will need to replace the prx files inside the iso with the ones contained in that rar archive. To do this is simple, straightforward, and can be done one of two ways.

*For clarification, the boot.bin file that needs replacing inside the iso is located in PSP_GAME\SYSDIR and the prx files that need replacing are located inside PSP_GAME\USRDIR\module

-Inside of UMDgen is self explanatory using right click>replace command and replacing the files with the ones of the same name, and finally saving the iso (preferably as something easily recognizable. Use "Megaman Powered Up" without the quotes.). Or, extract the whole iso using an app such as WinRAR, replace the prx files and boot.bin file, drag the whole PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DAT.BIN file to UMDgen and save the iso (preferably as something easily recognizable. Use "Megaman Powered Up" without the quotes.)

Either way you should now have a properly modified .iso. Copy this to inside your Umdemulator's ISO folder probably located inside the UMDEMULATOR folder in the root of your memory stick.

Starting up the game:
-On your psp, run UMD Emulator
-Select the Megaman Powered Up iso
-Run MPH Game Loader 1.1

Known bugs:
Sleep-mode issues
Wifi does not work
Game freezes after destroying Dr. Wily's second form in New Style mode <-- what could be the cause of this?

EDIT:
Downloadable Content:

Some people just love construction mode and downloadable content, so do I, but for the time being 1.5 users are left in the dark with no wifi connection to download stuff for their game. Fortunatly it is simple to get the content into your game, first check out this:

Since this is the official thread, thought that I should post it here too to any Roll fans here:
This website has some downloadable content that you can just upload into your save folder.  The most recent roll costume was just added(Megaman 8 costume)
Enjoy.

Thank you, Syn13.

And if you would like to share your created stages with others, you can find your saved stages in your SAVEDATA folder. Upload those to your favorite online host. You will receive a link that you can send to others to download it. Examples of free file hosting services:

http://rapidshare.de
http://www.yousendit.com
http://www.megaupload.com
http://bttfpromo.net/upload.php

and so on... If you download someone else's stage just copy it into your SAVEDATA folder to try them out in-game. Maybe there might soon be a workaround or hack to view, upload, and download stages directly off of CAPCOM's or whoever's server outside of the game... just throwing that idea out there. Anyone know if that's plausible?

feel free to report any findings/corrections/revisions you feel necessary. Thank you.

Re: Official Megaman Powered Up on 1.5 thread

As of right now I am yet to get MMPU to work.  It appears that the game loads but it locks up at the Now Loading screen.  Admittedly this is my first attempt at loading a 2.0 iso on my 1.5  PSP, so bear with me please.  So here is what I've been doing.

First I created the Flash0 and Flash1 folders using the MPH Firmware Launcher and an EBOOT file of firmware 2.0.  I choose the Installation option and everything appears to go smoothly.  I then move the Flash0 and Flash1 folders into the MPH Firmware launcher folder as instructed.

I installed UMD Emulator 0.8c on my PSP.  This process is routine.  Just copy the 1.5 ready folders into the \Game directory.  Easy enough.

I then proceeded to rebuild the ISO by replacing the .prx files in the USRDIR\module folder my Mega Man image with the .prx files from Metal Gear Acid.

I then extract the EBOOT.BIN from the ISO and use the Aenaea Decrypt program.  I take the decrypted EBOOT.bin and Rename it BOOT.bin.  I then replace the original BOOT.BIN in the ISO with my decrypted one.  I save the ISO and put it into the \ISO folder on my psp.  I use UMD Emulator 0.8c to load the iso in system menu mode.  This is done with a UMD in the drive.  Everything appears to be fine, when browse to the UMD in the XBar menu, mega man shows up instead of hot shots golf, which is in the drive.

I then Proceed to launch the game using MPH loader.  Everything seems ok.  It asks me if I want to Autosave and create a save for the game.  I select yes and then proceed.  After these steps the game goes to a blank screen with Now Loading in the bottom right and locks.

Am I doing someting wrong?  Any help would be very greatly appreciated.  This process doesn't seem all that hard and I understand exactly what is going on.

Thanks in advance everybody.  Hopefully once I get this figured out I can be of benefit to others.

EDIT:  Should I be launching the 2.0 Firmware with MPH FW Launcher before I try to load the game?  Also, I only have hte Flash0 and Flash1 folders in the MPHGameLoader folder, NOT in the root of the drive, is this correct?

Re: Official Megaman Powered Up on 1.5 thread

You should not be launching the 2.0 Firmware with MPH FW Launcher before you try to load the game.

I actually got it to work on mine, albeit that I most likely have the bug that causes the game to crash after beating Dr. Wily's second form that others have reported. Once I get to that point I'll confirm or deny it. I have edited the OP to include what I did to get mine working.
