How does the themes work on m33?

I'm running on 3.71m33 for the first time, I used to have the OE firmware XMB customized before, but I'm not sure how it works on m33.

Does the Theme that gets installed on flash shows up on the theme menu on XMB?

If so, can it be switched back and forth with the original theme?

if you have 3.71-3.90 M33 i'm pretty sure the themes will work but be missing some icons... other than that the theme will not work...correct me if i'm wrong...

If it's any consolation, I've customised the fonts, icons, opening and gameboot's of my 3.52-4 m33 phat psp, and it still worked fine.
