Woh budget systems have gotten cheap!
yah outta all three of them i say get the compaq and toshiba depending on whether you want a 15in screen or a 17. Intel statisticaly will give you a longer battery life then the Acer's AMD + ATI combination for processor and gpu chipset. Also those guys are new versus the Acer which is refurbished. The may be the fastest computer outta all three of these but i still say get one of the other two. I already know your looking for something light weight with a lot of batt power. If you wanted to game you would have posted totally diff links

you might get some reasonable frames with lowest res and everything low but i doubt it, and no you can not change the videocard on a laptop. |

It's possible to change the graphics cards on certain laptops that have a dedicated card, but only if others in that model range have different graphics card options. Upgrading an integrated card = no dice.
There's always the option of overclocking - I did that to my CPU and GPU and it's not overheating or giving any problems (besides raping battery, but I have an underclocked profile for that). Bear in mind that not all GPUs can be done, and in not all cases are they stable at a level which give a noticeable performance boost.

Either 2 or 3.
Refurbs are known to cause a lot of problems. I would go with 3 as a 17" screen makes the Toshiba less portable. Right now I am on my 2005 Compaq Presario Desktop. So I know for fact that Compaqs are good quality PC's in terms of manufacturing quality.
