Default Upgrading from Genuine Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 ultimate
Hey everyone, I want to upgrade my genuine Vista Ultimate, for which I have the key, to windows 7 Ultimate. My cousin sent me the Windows 7 Upgrade and install disc, but I wasn't sure. If I upgrade, do I need a new serial? Will my Vista serial work? Forgive me for the nooby question.

From my experience, upgrading to a new operating experience requires a new key/activation code. Although i haven't tried upgrading to Windows 7 yet so there is no telling.

Is it and upgrade disc or a full installer disc for windows 7? because if its an installer disc it usually it means you need a whole new partition.

I have both discs..Damn...reinstallation of everything can be a huge pain in the arse

vista key will not work

The full version disc allows for an upgrade as well as a fresh install. As for the key, the Vista key won't work and you'll either need to purchase a new key or get a crack
