So now I'm deciding that I'll overclock my shit (just a little, don't want anything to explode) to see if my games will run any faster. I remember playing Halo a while back on my laptop and it said something about the system being at 1100 when the max is 1700. So I'm thinking of raising it to 1300 to see what happens. The problem I'm having is figuring out how to do this. I've searched online but I can't find any guides or anything on how to raise the CPU speed for my certain laptop. I went into the BIOS and there's not option I can see. Acer Aspire 4530 Windows 7 (32) AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHz 3GB RAM (2.75 usable) <<<Any way to raise this up?

Graphics card with memory would be ideal rather than overclocking.

your BIOS are locked and you cannot overclock your CPU

Softclocking usually works in that case, did for me.

you could try it, very limited compatibility though
you can also OC your GPU, but make sure it says a decent and not hovering around 80C like on idle or something |

The reason it says this is because the laptop has onboard graphics, instead of dedicated graphics.
This will make you unable to play any heavy duty games, only minorly simple ones like Halo ![]() There's nothing you can do. Sorry man
