Well just buy a monitor that has hdmi in. That would work right out of the box with your ps3. If the monitor you are buying does not have hdmi in, chances are it atleast has DVI in, so you'll be able to use a hdmi to dvi cable to use your monitor. If your monitor for some reason does not have dvi or hdmi, it will def have a vga input. In that case you will need to buy a vga cable for your ps3. If you need help finding these things just post and i'll help you out, but you should be able to google these all

is there a cable that will work?
or is it just way easier to use a tv? i'm wondering because i have my laptop and my ps3 on my desk hooked upto my monitor and don't really have any space for a tv. and its not really worth buying a tv to play ps1 games because i spend most of my time on pc/ps3. plus i'd have to buy/lease (or w/e) another cable box to get the good channels if i bought a tv.
