Official Firefox Extensions Thread
I'm actually amazed we don't have a thread dedicated to this yet, so let me start it off, in alphabetical order.
Fellow users can post their own "must have" extensions, with a link, description, icon and screenshot (optional), and I'll add them to this list.
Also, feel free to post Greasemonkey scripts as well. Any that are posted will be put together in a spoiler section underneath the Greasemonkey description.

Right-click on a banner and choose “Adblock” from the context menu — the banner won’t be downloaded again. Maybe even replace parts of the banner address with star symbols to block similar banners as well. Or choose a filter subscription, then even this simple task will usually be unnecessary: the filter subscription will block most advertisements fully automatically.

Well reload no further! with C4C you'll just mark the relevant text, set a check interval (e.g every 1 minute), and you're done!

If you can't find what you are looking for, click the weather icons displayed to open the AccuWeather.com® forecast for your location. A slider, similar to when popup notification for when all downloads complete, pops up from the bottom right corner of your screen when the current conditions are updated. You can even set what appears in it or disable it!

Hundreds of scripts are already available for free. And if you're the tinkerer sort, you can also write your own.

This add-on automates the discovery of relevant information buried in the search results on Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Lexis Web or Craigslist.
Simply enter your query at one of these search engines as you always would. When you click a result that appeals to you, the application automatically re-ranks the result set in order to bring forward what you need while suppressing what you don’t want. “Recommended” results can come from as deep as page 100, where virtually no one ever looks, but often come from pages 2-10. Surf Canyon also inserts optional “bull’s eye” icons to the search page to enable retrieving recommendations immediately, without having to actually click the particular result.
