Arrow

You all remember the flash game Thing Thing? If you have never played it, feel free to check it out here -- http://www.crazymonkeygames.com/Thing-Thing.html

Well, I have decided to port it, not only boost my programming skills but to make a game which people (hopefully) will enjoy.

The game will feature a story style mode where you play through a pseudo-story similar to the original flash game, and another mode where you have to kill as many people as possible before you die.

Things finished
- Menu
- HUD
- Player movement
- Graphics
- Customization
- Attacking
- Sound
- Collision

Things to do
- Enemies
- Aiming

--Release Date: 7th November 2008--

The game currently looks like this:

In the future I will be looking for people to make custom characters so that you will be able to have a wide range of people to play as

Also, if you think you can help in anyway please post here

Well it's a rather ambitious project considering it is heavily mouse controlled controls :( But hey I'd love for it to be on the PSP :) Best of luck!

Thanks :twothumbs:

I'm having this annoying problem though where I cannot seem to join two lines of sprites doing the one thing. I have two lines, each walking forwards (it needs to be like that so it doesn't go past the max image dimensions), but no matter what I try the two lines will not join together. Is there some way to fix that (or to increase the image dimensions)?

Depends on how you are handling your frame by frame animations (each frame being a sprite in your spritesheet). The animation class I made, oslAnimLib, works very well (used in Kitten Cannon and Boxhead so far (btw I finished the ai in boxhead :D, shhhh ;)), it doesn't have a texture cache though (I've been too busy to update it so I work around it with my games). Even if you don't use C++ you can take a look at how it loads and works with spritesheets (supports layered ones like you seem to be having trouble with), C and C++ really aren't that different so you won't have a problem understanding if you get C well enough.

Well, I fixed up the walking and added a HUD so I think that's enough coding for one day

Kick ass dude.
I didnt think you would actualy go through with it.

I dont see the mouse thing being an issue though.
The stick will work just as well.

Same as metal slug or contra.

Good luck dude, and if you want testers...
You know where ill be.
