I didn't say it didn't, but the purpose, if I'm correct was to be the most creative, and IMO building the entire thing from scratch qualifies that best.

So I was under the impression that the winners would ultimately be chosen by judges.

As it says in the initial rules:

Quote:
The way the winners will be chosen is by the PSP-Hacks.com staff members. We may also include a poll voting system to help us out with our decision.
Is this still the case?

Edit: Not that democracy isn't great and all, but I just have the slightest feeling that not everyone voting has tried all of the entries.

This could just be the 'popular vote' to see how it compares to the judges (much like real voting).

Default 1 vote for light cycle here :)

1 vote for light cycle here. Great game. It was nice having the custom mp3 playback so i don't have to listen to the same game track over and over...Explosions/effects are really nice and its really addicting overall. I played this on the way to my piano recital for like 30 minutes. Didn't even realize i was there until my dad turned the engine off. Great overall

NoEffex , please stop , its obvious that you haven't checked out all the homebrew games. :-/.

@Xigency:
I think that staff will decide the winner , this poll is used as a "sample" or something( well , at least i can tell from what i've been reading around the boards).

I've tried out most of them, however I just happen to like Slippy's the best, because it's online and such. That and I had seen an EARLY demo of an older engine he had used for it, which I liked. However, it's also true, as you said, that the opinions stated in this thread is not final, and is just for a little leniency toward the official "judges" if you might have it...I hope. If that isn't the case, then disregard my posts.

/explanation
I'll stop before I get completely nonsensical, as I just came from a party and I'm rather tired.

A voting system like this can be easily abused, plus most voters will choose based on how good the sample image / title looks.
The winner should ultimately be chosen by the psp-hacks staff, judged with different categories with set points for each.
Just my two cents.
