You gotta love Brick.

From now on, Brick is the one who hands out the programmer's titles and who can take them away. If Brick says someone deserves to be in the programmer's group, then I'll put them in there. Also if Brick says that someone should not be in the programmer's group yet, then I'm going to have to remove that person from the group and title until Brick says that person is ready to go back into the group.

I don't know why you're so ridiculous into trying to pick on people.

As for the library thing, I never said the library didn't use pointers .... a majority of c programming relies on using pointers for info. What I said was, Why use them when I can do all of this in a simple way. Now i'm sure you'll say

"BLAH BLAH YOU JUST SUCK, POINTERS ARE SUPER EASY FAGGOT RETARD.. GO LEARN PROGRAMMING"

That may be true, my methods of programming are different though, I started off learning JAVA and then JAVA 3d. I came into C and C++ later, so this whole pointer thing is relativily new to how things are used with it.

I don't know why i went off on this tangent, I just don't understand why you're flaming me when I made no dramatic post. I had put some silly humor in my beggining post, that for whatever reason offended you (?). I'd just wish you didn't think this stuff is just "common knowledge" that every programmer will know.

Also considering this is basically the first time I asked for help with programming. If you guys aren't able to understand that this isn't just common knowledge, that every programmer should know every library, then there is no sense in having this part of the forums.

N/C N/C N/C N/C N/C...

I don't see any logic in your code , your code looks like the code of someone who doesn't even know what programming logic is.
And the "pointer thing" can really answer every single question , just N/C.

Learn to program , if you care , because trust me : no one cares.

Isn't it common sense to avoid loading every single resource when you don't need it? ...
In this section you will probably get help , ...its really up to the person and the mood.

And that library happens to be fully documented. What more do you want?

Again, I don't know why you keep criticizing peoples code. I didn't ask for criticism on it, I simply asked for help. I don't really understand why all these people seem to be sucking your dick over this issue, and implying that i'm stating these odd things. I never asked to be in the programmer group. Last time I checked this part of the forums, stated that you could ask for it.

Again, I am sorry that everything from this library is common sense too me. We can't all lose the homebrew idol competition, and be as cool as you (?).

No shit about people judging the post, that's THE POINT. I am seeking help. I can take constructive criticism, however your post of "Learn to program" is not. It's more you, trying to insult my intelligence by stating you're "superior". I simply asked for help, and again I thank you for the post you gave me. It's not exactly the type I want to follow, but it works I guess.

Just...what? The library that you're working with uses pointers for pretty much everything.
If you really don't know how the library works , seriously , its a serious issue.

BTW,Its common sense , BUT , that preload function will load every single month picture into memory and you don't want that but the active month.

AND,what kind of calendar application is this without dynamic content?..........

Well when asking for help, don't add the humor or you wouldn't taken seriously. On top of that, you do need to go over your code. 2 programmers said that your coding was bad in a sort of way.

My suggestion is to start this thread over before the flaming gets out of hand.

I don't , just take a look at your posts , you're more worried for what others
are going to say about your experience and really its getting old and triggers flames.

You're "afraid" to post code and you're always sending PMs to members with code(include me) ...just wth?
thread2 ...linky

I decided to write a little example for you and you complained about the pointers and
in other words you judged the code.

Then you claim that you know some JAVA , and a bit C/C++ and you have no idea about pointers...

Is this how you're always asking for help? and you're expecting "polite" answers?*insert confused.gif*

And its not the first time that you're asking for help , i posted in your other thread so i cannot
be wrong **LINKY**.

You wanted a serious reply and you got what you asked for.......

Also let me remind you that the PM you sent me 2-3 months ago had the exact same code , and was starting
like this : "please don't flame me coz im a beginner..."blah....

Yes , i didn't win the contest(got 2nd place) but i managed to complete 3 projects at that time(the editor,the game
and LTELiteMod) and not to mention the work on the art/audio/scripts/triggers/events/level design
and the exams where killing me...but still it was a miracle that i could offer a complete game
with such a huge todo list.

I also shared my modified engine with the winner ... and in the end i offered a small part of my work
to the community.

Now , im not going to have a conversation with you regarding the complexity of such a game/toolset
because its pointless.

BTW , what did you offered to the community? emotears?

AnywayZ , enough drama , we've managed to increase the hits already... gg
Just when you're asking for help , don't include my nickname and these """""""""quotes""""""""""""
with "psp-hacker(S)-##".

Seriously , you don't know how to ask for help...

Spoiler:

btw i have nothing personal with emos rofl

Edit : Pirata , ps2dev is not for newbies. A newb will get 0 replies or 999999999 posts to remind you that this is not
a place for a beginner.

Again, way to prove my point EXACTLY. Nice one dude, posting 1 thread -- and trying to prove your point. Yeah I was seeking help in the same topic I started, it wasn't 500 threads like you imply.

And Agreed upon, I did ask for your help. I originially asked Pirate, because he is actually friendly about helping people. Maybe you should take a note sometime?

Let me ask you god of programming qwho recieved second place in the homebrew idol, How is it someone asks for help. I felt my PM to you months ago was pretty fair. I don't think it's fair for you to judge someone and tell them to ''learn the basics" - if the person has already read several books and been through classes. I will continue to point out, that though syntax will always be the same,it is not common sense to know an entire library with out reading through it. Again you mis-read what I said, I told you I know how to do pointers, but I'm not use to using them for every single thing. I use different ways.

By the way I love how offended you're getting over my post at the start, You actually inserted your own name and assumed it was you. Doesn't that tell you something (?).

So then what was my reasoning for that?

Avoid this entire thing all together, let me point out I simply asked for help. Your arrogant ego was the person who posted the negative side effects. If you wanted to give some criticism, a simply "You should try to use pointers, it's much more efficent" Would be better.

There is no denying that you're a good programmer, You need to stop being so stuck up to those who post though. It is a general insult, to tell me I don't know the basics, when I indeed do. Just because i didn't choose to use pointers in my method, doesn't mean I Don't know the basics. I found that loading images for a calender would be fine doing simple if statements. Again I did fail, because I should have read more about the methods i was using.
