Album Art Help

Hi everyone, i'm having a little difficulty figuring out how to detect what album art is embedded into an mp3 file. Can anyone tell me how to read data from an id3 file to retrieve the image data, or how to return a hidden art file (album-art{XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX}.jpg) that is associated with that mp3 file. Any help would be very much appreciated as I've been searching google forever on this topic.
