Lightbulb Psp customization idea

alright this is my first post here so hello.
I have a boring plain black fat psp. I got it a while ago and now its look bores me.

So I have decided to spice up its looks. I got a picture of a slim psp cause it was the highest res image I could find and I tried a little photoshopping on it to make it look different.

I am by no means a supper modder so I figure Ill buy a new black faceplate, airbrush the line in, change the buttons and either spray the nub myself or get a new one but its hard to find.

Just wanted to know what you guys think of my idea.

I'm like'n it.
It's simple and classy, witch is what I always like.

I hate it when people have 50 LEDs of every color and clear faceplates with bright blue buttons..etc. Yeah, I guess some people think it looks cool, but I just think it looks tacky.

You gonna spray paint your PSP?, why not just buy a new faceplate?

Im planning on buying a new one and airbrushing that so if I get bored of it I can always go back. Plus finding one that is simple is hard.

Actually I tried it with the blue buttons and blue umd metal ring thingy it doesnt look that horrible

sorry for the horrid shop job I rushed it

EDIT : super long post but I can't sleep so ...

It would be easier to do this one because I cant seem to find any white psp buttons and its much easier to spray black on white. But whats your opinion?

That PS job is actually pretty good .

I think they both look amazing (not so much with the blue buttons/disc thingie as without)... I've been looking around for inspiration on what to do to my faceplate on my psp and you, sir, have given me it... I could try this and tell you what it looks like... I'll try the white with black stripe first... If I decide I want to use my money I will try a black with white stripe...

I used to complain about the fact that you can't buy faceplates/backplates with designs already on them because I never thought of actually spraying them myself... lol.

BTW, what type of paint would be best for this acrylic... Can someone show me a link of maybe a good brand I can look for... This will be my first mod on my psp.
BTW (again), I think those PS jobs were pretty good... I wish I was that good... Where did you learn to use PhotoShop? Or did you just learn it yourself like I have done so far?

I would use any acrylic based paint for it and do a million coats so it looks professional (not actually a million but a lot) doing it really lightly. The brand doesnt matter just go to a hobby shop and ask for acrylic paints.

I learned photoshop in school im in uni for graphic design. there are a few good tutorials for tools on youtube tho just dont say photoshop but actually look for tutorials on tequnques.

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can pickup some paint as soon as I can.
Should I just masking tape to block off the paint from running to bits I want kept original colour on faceplate, or is there a better alternative?

EDIT: Just found this eBay shop.
It has "skin protectors" and faceplates/backplates and face buttons.

My eyes are too tired so I can't see these colours properly. What colour is this?. Here and shall I do white with black stripe first? With This or This
I already have the original official "piano black" psp faceplate but I would prefer not to paint it. I could use the buttons though with the white faceplate.

[color=purple]Does anyone know where you can get the trimming (if you can buy it).[color]

I also need a new "repair kit" for psp... you know the stuff... It this okay? Or does anyone know where I can get all the stuff for cheap? I have 50+ guitar picks so that's one thing I can already use. I think I have a few flat headed screwdrivers knocking about, a few stanley blades I can use... So what does that leave to get? The screwdriver and tweezers. So anyone know where to get them? (At a good price with cheap and fast shipping)

Btw, do you use a tablet? If so which one?

How would I paint it so that it doesn't go over the SONY symbol in the top right?

[ADDED COLOR, IT LOOKED BORING]
