[Tutorial] Practically Skip Your Whole Gameboot

This is my first tutorial so i am sorry for any mistakes that i have made.

Summary
This tut tells you how to edit opening_plugin.rco to skip your gameboot. Works on 5.00M33 and 5.50GEN.

Tools
> RCO Editor
> Resurssiklunssi (needs 1.50 kernel addon OR LEDA 0.2 for slims and phats.)

To install Resurssiklunssi place the Resurssiklunssi folder in the GAME150 folder under the 3.XX kernel or if you are under the 1.5 kernel place it in your GAME folder. Place the rco folder in the root of you memory stick. Keep Resurssiklunssi for future uses its useful if you plan to edit other rcos and it would also be less trouble because osnap1584 provided the sysmem.prx if you are too lazy to get the file yourself.

If you are on a slim, use Dark_AleX's Time Machine, or Noobz's Eloader, or LEDA 0.2.

Here is a link to decrypted and decompressed rco which you can work with. It is updated everytime a new firmware is released. Just scroll down and you will find them for your firmware. Click Here

Take note that this accesses your Flash0. Back up the files in case of accidents.

Instructions
1. You need the opening_plugin.rco. If you have a theme, copy it over from your flash0 /vsh/resource folder. You're gonna edit this.

2. Open up RCO editor provided from the link above then open and browse for the opening_plugin.rco.

These popups are likely to appear.



IF it does, press No and putthe opening_plugin.rco in the rco folder in the root of your memory stick and run the Resurssiklunssi program. Press X to decompress the files in the rco folder. When finished a new decompressed opening_plugin.rco appears in the /rco/done folder.

3. Open up RCO editor if you have closed the window and open the new decompressed opening_plugin.rco. Go to the Anim Data Tab and scroll down to anim_gameboot_movie



4. Those in the red boxes, change the value to 0. If its an address, change it to 0x00000000.

[OPTIONAL] You might also want to compress the opening_plugin rco again for more free space. Make sure the /rco/done folder is empty and place the newly editted opening_plugin.rco in the rco folder. Start Resussiklunssi and press O this time to compress the rco in the rco folder.

5. Paste the newly editted opening_plugin.rco in the flash0:/vsh/resource folder overwriting the original(remember to have backups). [OPTIONAL] delete gameboot.pmf

6. Restart Your PSP and it's done.

FYI

When you load a game you might be alarmed. Just wait and the game will load.

To have Gameboots again, replace the opening_plugin.rco with your original one. I told you to have backups!

worth da try , I never posted on this b4 , I got to give u rep n props on the find btw but having the option to skip is cool but I wouldnt skip..

But I am sure just having the option we would find a place to implement it !

i made this because last time i was doing building development (gta vcs cd) and had to go thru a text editor and the game to test it out....

now i just skip the gameboot...

it looks strange... makes it look like it crashed, cause the screen changes and freezes... lol only a video would make you know what i mean

Well thats something I think would be a good addition to ur tutorial , make a preview vid that would let ppl or potential testers of ur method what it looks like ! Then we can have more of a buzz on the topic , just brainstorming I guess !
