Hey guys, I'm following all of the steps in the tut to upgrade my slim from 3.90 M33 to 5.00 M33-3 and I keep getting the same problem. I download the linked files, but when I get the official update (which I renamed "500.PBP") onto my PSP it says corrupted data. I've redownloaded it and everything but I get the same problem. Just out of curiosity I put the file onto my PSP without renaming it and my PSP can read it no problem... What is the purpose of renaming the official update, can I just not rename it, and if I run the update without renaming it will it still upgrade to 5.00 M33-3 from 3.90 M33 with no problems? Thanks for any help guys!!

-Oh, also will the games I play now on 3.90 M33 work fine on 5.00 M33-3? Thanks again all!

If you're psp CFW is BELOW 3.52M33(2.71SE-3.40OE)
*Upgrade to 3.52M33(set ur kernal to 1.5 first before running upgrade)
Step 1. Download the official 3.52 update here = http://www.psphero.com/download/official_352.rar
Step 2. Download the 3.52M33 update here = http://dax.allroms.nl/files/psp/3.52M33.zip
Step 3. Rename the official as 352.PBP and place it in the UPDATE folder.
Step 4. Run the UPDATE (it would create the M33 Update for you, after created run it)
Step 5. After you have created and installed the 3.52M33 update into your PSP's firmware, download the 3.52M33-4 patch here = http://dax.allroms.nl/files/psp/M33-1234.zip
Step 6. Run the update (hold the L button + triangle button while update is loading to skip the 78% charge greeting)(kernal set to 1.5)
And there you have it, your psp is now on 3.52M33-4 and can upgrade to any higher firmware
Flash670

i'm getting ready to do the first update i need. i need to make some things clear first.

1.) Do I need to make an UPDATE folder in my memory stick's root folder?
2.) Do I put both files (3.52M33 update and official 3.52 update) in the same folder?
3.) I do all these on the PSP?

Sorry for asking a lot of questions. i just want to make sure that i'm doing this right. Thanks in advance.

when you download the 3.52m33 update it comes with an UPDATE folder after you extract it. place the official 352.PBP into the UPDATE folder under msO:/PSP/GAME

place it in the GAME folder.

1. place the official 500.PBP in the UPDATE folder of the 5.00m33. the UPDATE folder comes with the 5.00m33 when you extract it. in the UPDATE folder you should have EBOOT.PBP and 500.PBP and other files. if you just ran the update the way your saying you would upgrade to OFFICIAL firmware.

2. yes your games will work on 5.00m33-3
only your themes wont work.
