Update to 5.00 m33-6 here ( or through my guide below ) then update to 5.50 gen-d2 here:

follow step a if updating to 5.00 m33-6 , if you already updated then start from step b then step c

to check what psp u have look at the serial number located on the bottom of the psp see the bar code thingy ...the last 4 digits should reed 1000, 1001, 2000 3000 ect for example mine reads PP11xxxxxx-psp1001

Hi....I have psp 2006 with 3.80 M33-5 CFW,the question are how
can i upgrade the CFW to the latest so i can play Fifa 10 or GranTurismo.

run these installers from with 3.52 kernal mode set.(hold R trigger when starting psp to enter recovery menu, enter config, set game homebrew kernal to 3.52)

-download this link below

- u will get an update folder

-then download this link below

http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1568

- u will get 5.00 official firmware eboot

- rename it as 500.PBP

- put it into the update folder

- then connect psp to pc via usb cable or card reader

- put the update folder into /PSP/GAME/

- then run it from xmb

Question about PSP 1000 firmware 3.11.

I went to the section:

I dowloaded the firware but PSP wont run the program

Filename: PSP_350_UPDATE.RAR

The PSP thinks this is corrupted. Any advice?

You have to extract it first.

OK I extracted the file that worked fine but when I try to move the extracted file to the PSP I get an error code about 25% into the file move. "PSP not ready"
Windows can see the PSP and the memory stick but wont allow me to move the file into the PSP. Any suggestions?

I have enough free space on the memory stick and the PSP is fully charged.

try formatting your memory stick and perform a move not a copy.
