[TUTORIAL] noob friendly way to upgrade to higher custom firmware

I must be missing steps on upgrading to GEN-B, as I just cant do it. I upgraded to 5.50 GEN-A Build 4, with no issues. Now I am trying to put the GEN-B files into the update folder, it keeps saying Corrupted File.

Needless to say I am P.O'd about this already. Please if you folks can assist!

I haven't been in the PSP scene since 07' and it's time to update my PSP's CFW so I'm able to get Gran Turismo [yes, I heard it was garbage but I'm an addict ] maybe mod some fading LED's, clear buttons. But, first things first my PSP is Model-1001 with CFW 3.52 M33-2 and I need to get it updated to 5.50 GEN-B2? Where do I start?

use recovery flasher v1.6 to go to 5.00m33-6 and use the below links to go to 5.50gen-b2

Follow these steps:

➡ Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A (Build 4) (Put the UPDATE folder in the GAME folder and run the update)

➡ Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B (Put the 5.50-genB-update folder in the GAME folder and run the update)

➡ Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B2 (Put the 5.50-genB2-update folder in the GAME folder and run the update)

You mean Hellcats Recovery Flasherv1.60 (5.00m33-6)? just making sure b/c there's alot of F'ed up releases for anything. Just don't want to brick it.

Take the UPDATE folder and put it in the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick. Take the 550.PBP file and put it on the root of your memory stick.
