read that sticky thread at the top of this section, u must downgrade to 1.5 first....

I figure wouldn't the noob friendly way of updating the PSP be via the System Update because as of 3.80 DA has his updater built in.

Right?

as i said, this tut is an optional way to upgrade.

hi. ive got a slim that's running on 3.71 M33-4. can i still use this method of upgrading to 4.01?

and what's the difference between 5.00 and 4.01?

5.00m33-3 is the latest version of custom firmware.
4.01m33-2 is the second latest.
and yes you may use this method.
i recommend this if you do NOT have a wireless access point around.

please follow all steps before doing anything

i dont have a wireless access point. so anyway i can just straight away upgrade to 5.00 from 3.71?

i followed ur instructions, and i only see corrupted data. i tried re downloading too. what went wrong =S

is your kernel set to 3.XX in recovery mode?
