Default [TUTORIAL] NOOB FRIENDLY PANDORA's BATTERY HARDMOD

Well here its is! i've just hard modded my psp battery and i had alot of trouble, so i decided to make a tut that will have all of your questions answered!

ENJOY!

[REQUIREMENTS]
[x] memory stick pro duo (128mb minimum, not over 512mb)
[x] psp battery, (make sure its not a new one as they are made in china and are un-pandorable)
[x] hobby knife, exacto knife
[x] brains and some patience

OUR BATTERY:

CUT THE BATTERY OPEN WITH A KNIFE, DONT BE SCARED IF SOME SMOKE COMES OUT, ITS JUST ELECTRICITY THAT HAS NO FRIENDS AND HAS TO LEAVE THE BATTERY (MAKE SURE TO CUT THE EDGES REALLY GOOD)

THIS IS WHAT MY BATTERY LOOKED LIKE WHEN I OPENED IT( YOURS MIGHT LOOK DIFFERENT) LOOK HERE FOR WHAT PIN TO CUT IF YOURS IS DIFFERENT http://www.pspmod.com/forums/hardwar...-pictures.html

NOW CUT THE PIN FARTHEST TO THE RIGHT (LOOK AT THE PICTURE)

CONGRATS IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR ( THE HARD PART IS DONE )

NOW ON TO MAKING YOU'RE MAGIC MEMORY STICK.

FOR THIS, I RECOMMEND USING RAIN'S BEAUTIFUL ULTRA LITE MMS MAKER FOR 4.01M33-2. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1580

1. PUT YOUR PSP INTO USB MODE.
2. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT DRIVE SELECTED ( I AM NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR FORMATTED DRIVES)
3. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE OFFICIAL 4.01 UPDATE INSIDE THE LITE MMS FOLDER ( DOWNLOAD 4.01 : http://www.mediafire.com/file/fzdiim0zozm/EBOOT.PBP )
4. CLICK MAKE MMS.
5. WHEN IT IS FINISHED, INSERT YOUR MEMORY CARD FIRST INTO YOUR PSP, THEN PUT IN THE BATTERY ( HOLD "L" WHEN TURNING IT ON TO GO TO THE PANDORA OPTIONS )

GOOD JOB, YOU'VE NOW CREATED YOUR OWN WORKING PANDORA BATTERY!!!

NOTE: as of now it is still not possible to downgrade from 5.00 ( from what i hear) if i am wrong please tell me and i will fix this ASAP

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Q: when i cut my battery smoke comes out and i think its broken.
A: chill out, your battery is fine, the smoke is just the metal blade touching with the electricity in the battery. but your battery is broken if you see the knife comming out the other side of the battery

Q: when i put the battery and the MMS in, the PSP just boots normally.
A: you are not holding "L" when you turn it on

I HOPE THIS GUIDE HELPED YOU GUYS OUT. HAPPY HACKING!

if the battery smokes, it can be fried and garbage, u got lucky, dont cut so deep into the battery.....
These have been known to explode the odd time too, be warned.
If u touch any of the two pins together when u are removing the one, u can fry the battery too

if u upgraded to 5.00, yes u can downgrade/flash custom firmware.
the thing is, if ur psp has the new processor and these are found in psps that come stock with 4.01 or higher firmware straight out of the box then yes, they cant be hacked yet.

I, as well, had smoking when I was removing the pin. Scared me to death, but I tried it anyway and lo and behold, it worked. I guess luck is a major part of it =P

I have a Pandora battery(3.6V 1800mAh) and it works perfectly on my PSP Phat. Will this same battery work on my PSP Slim?? I've noticed that the real battery for the Slim is 3.6V 1200mAh this is 1800mAh.. Will it work??

Lol... As soon as I looked at this page. BOOM! large pictures... Lol, could you resize them for users with low bandwith/dial-up?

EDIT: You can also change Rain's MMS Maker to Rain and Klutsch's PSP Grader 8.
