Some Tips/Pointers to get the chickhen mod working on the first try all the time:

Tip 1: ALWAYS have your theme set to original. (Meaning when you switch on your psp its on original theme)

Tip 2: Chickhen Mod NEVER STARTS while your psp is charging, so dont attempt it while your psp is charging.

Tip 3: When trying to run the chickhen mod, MAKE SURE to let the Options at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to load up before entering the Memory Stick under Photo in xmb.

Tip 4: Once inside Memory Stick, DO NOT SCROLL DOWN STRAIGHT AWAY, either wait for 2 seconds at the ChickHen folder or wait for the Options at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to load up before scrolling down to the blue picture.

Tip 5: After you put approximately 800mb or more in file size into your psp memory stick via USB Cable and switch it off later, the Chickhen mod MIGHT not be able to work on the first try all the time again when you switch on your psp the next time. To make it work on the first try all the time AGAIN, Restoring to default system settings is needed.

Hope these tips help all Unhackable psp2000s and psp3000s out there using bestyugiman's chickhen mod.

The above tips were tested with my psp 3001 with a 8gb sandisk memory stick.

If the above tips do not work, it MIGHT be that these tips ONLY apply with a psp 3001 and a 8gb memory card.
I've actually had the best results.. and works probably 99% of the time by scrolling over to chickhen photos asap upon startup and scrolling all the way down as fast as possible

Also people gen b doesn't require you installing A beforehand

I have no psp 3000 or 2000 so sadly I can't try. but I assume you mean I just enable chickhen ( system now 5.03 chickhen r2 ) then go run 5.03 gen-b and it'll install fine ? no 5.03 gen-a needed ?

YOU SAY DO THIS.....

18-It's Easy to Use. First time you run it . Press R or L to flash files then press 0 to reboot to CFW . after that if your PSP crashes , just run chickhen then run this program and DON'T PRESS L OR R , just press 0 to reboot to CFW

19-Download 5.03 gen-b

20-Extract it

21-Copy 5.03GEN-B to ms0:/PSP/GAME/

22-Run it from GAME in XMB. (Note : When it's the first time you run it , you press L or R to flash the files then press 0 to reboot. After that if your PSP crashes , you run the application it'll reboot you directly to CFW)

23-Done . Welcome to 5.03 gen-b world

24-When you're in XMB , press select and change umd iso loader to SONY NP9600 or M33 Driver

25-Also I after the first time you toggle 5.03 gen-b , I recommend you format the memory stick , ONLY NEEDED AFTER THE FIRST TIME

22-Enjoy !
NOTE : THIS CFW IS NOT PERMANENT SO IF YOUR PSP IS TURNED OFF UNDER ANY CONDITION YOU'LL HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN , DO THE CHICKHEN THEN RUN 5.03 GEN-B AND IT'LL REBOOT YOU TO CFW AUTOMATICALLY.SO JUST LEAVE THE PSP IN SLEEP MODE AND DON'T LET THE BATTERY DIE.AND ALSO NEVER MESS WITH THE FLASH FILES OR YOU'LL BRICK YOUR PSP !

Another Note : After the first time you run 5.03 GEN-B , if your psp crashes or turns off due to any thing , you run chickhen , then when you run 5.03 GEN-B quick updater it'll automatically put you to CFW .

I SAY THIS....

I have had a 3000 for over 6 months. When I bought it, I hacked it and began to play games on it. I have never had a problem with anything on Gen-A.

Now, the other night I download Gen-B. I was already on Gen-A, so I just loaded up Gen-B right over Gen-B, because that's what the instructions for Gen-B tell you. First Gen-A, then Gen-B. I know with Gen-A there is a "files" folder and some other files in a couple different places on my memory card.

So, today, I wanted to see if I could do this all again, so I popped my battery out, put it back in and reloaded ChickHEN. I installed Gen-A, then when I tried to install Gen-B, the black screen comes up with a message "Rebooting in 5.03 Gen-B". It reset and when I checked it this time, it still says Gen-A. WHAT THE HELL!?!? So, I pulled the battery out again, reloaded ChickHEN and tried just Gen-B. The same silly screen popped up and when I went and checked my CFW it says Gen-A (FULL) WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!

So, now I read that you want me to completely reformat my 8GB Stick? Why? Why isnt this program loading as advertised? I would love to have someone from the Gen Team answer this for me.

Also, can someone please educate me on exactly where all the files for Gen-A are supposed to be (Each and every file, because the self installer thing that comes with Gen-A has never worked for me, so I had to improvise and put files in a couple different locations)

Hmmm. I might have put wrong instructions. but look. use cfw enabler 3.30 and uninstall cfw from your psp. then install chickhen then 5.03 gen-b without going through gen-a.I'm really sorry I have no psp 3000 so can't try it

So, can I delete all the files and folders associated with Gen-A and still get Gen-B to work?

Can you please send me a link for this 3.50 uninstaller? Because I have no idea what 3.50/3.60 are.

I assumed that since the 3000 was only a software hack that if I pulled out my battery out and reset it that it basically reset the psp to factory. I guess it still keeps some information about your hack on the system. I dont know. I need some assistance here.

I love how every time I turn around I am learning something new with this freakin thing. Keeps me on my toes, I guess.

Thanks for the help in advance, Defender

Look in the end of this guide , you'll find how to update to a newer cfw , by using cfw enabler 3.30 to uninstall. but this time , try using 5.03 gen-b directly without using 5.03 gen-a and see if that works
