im not really sure. i updated it to 4.01 a few days ago (i only found out about 5.00 today).

when i played crisis core for the first time, it said i could update to 3.95. it didnt work so i would assume it came with 3.95. its the 2003 modle if that helps.

Then all you would need pandora, to get CFW.

So i dont need CFW on it already? Because i've heard from some people that in order to make a Pandora Battery or MMS you need CFW on the system before hand. Is this true, or can i just make the battery and MMS without it?

Sorry for asking such noobish questions ;__;

There are two ways of making pandora.
1. Softmod (if you already have cfw)
2. hardmod (if you have official firmware)

So to make the Pandora Battery for the first time with OFW, i HAVE to do it the hardmod way?

I've been looking at the Slim & Lite tut's for Pandora's Battery. It look kinda easy really. Thank god i don't have to solder anything!

can buy any pandora battery, it's just that fat pandora batteries work in both fat and slim, while slim only works in slim, it won't register in the fat psp's.
