I was just about to delete all those pics you used in the second/third post. If I take them off, and give you rep, can we call it a night? lol j/k. Nice guide.

Hmm, I wonder what did I do wrong?
I opened up the slim battery and followed the tutorial and cut the trace (from the picture, marked with blue circle) and tested it, it still boots normally, XMB crap and etc...

That didn't work either..
Hard modded battery's supposed to put PSP into service mode regardless of firmware? (Apart from certain PSP 2000 models and PSP 3000) Oh, to add to this, my PSP is running offical 4.05 firmware, as far as I know, it's downgradeable using pandora battery?

Did you make the Magic Memory Stick?

Yes, I've followed everything in the tutorial, missed nothing.
The damn thing still boots into XMB as if the battery is like normal. Even without the magic memory stick, the PSP with hard modded/pandora battery shouldn't boot into XMB, just black screen with green battery light on? I have no idea what went wrong =/

It came with 3.95 firmware, and later upgraded it to 4.05 because a certain game required that firmware to run.
