Some of you might want to try new original firmwares but they have custom firmware PSP which prevents you from upgrading, and you don't care that official firmware is blocking homebrew since you have pandora's battery. This tutorial includes how to fix a TA-082/86 PSP which does not allow going to firmwares above 3.11 if been downgraded. If you see that this pointless or useless then perhaps some other people might find this useful. NOTE: This is for fat PSP and not for slim. Before you start Before starting doing anything you should do several things: 1. You must make a Pandora battery and memory stick using spare ones that you will not use, as upgrading to Original firmwares will block homebrew ability and custom firmwares, so we need a pandora battery to go back to 1.50 and up to a custom firmware from the original firmware Easy GUI to make a pandora 2. Know what motherboard your PSP has. Look at the picture below: ![]() If your PSP has that "IC1003" at the UMD door then it's TA-082/86, if not then it's a regular PSP. 3. Charge your PSP to 100% and keep the AC Adapter plugged while doing Upgrading or Downgrading. 4. Format your memory stick, after making a backup of important data on it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ~~Instructions~~ Before you start i should warn you again that you MUST make a pandora battery and memory stick using spare ones that you're not going to use, as going to official firmwares will make your PSP homebrew-less and you won't be able to get a custom firmware again, unless you have a pandora though A. Regular PSP's(NON TA-082/86) 1. If on 3.XX OE/M33, copy the recovery files to it's right place using Calo's Installer. If you're already in 1.50 skip this and start step 4 2. Reboot your PSP to recovery, by Holding R while turning ON, a menu like this will appear(might be different color) ![]() Choose the option "Run Program At /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP" It would take sometime to load, then it'll ask you to press X do it and wait for it to finish. DO NOT do turn OFF until it finish. When It finish it'll ask to restart PSP manually do it. 3. Now when turned ON a BsOD will appear ![]() Press O and it'll restart asking you to enter settings. 4. Now toggle USB and Copy the Update file you want (3.70 for example) It'll be "EBOOT.PBP" copy that to the directory /PSP/GAME/UPDATE like the image ![]() 5. Disconnect USB and run the update ![]() 6. Wait for the Update to finish and don't turn it off while updating. When it finish reboot and you'll be on the new official firmware. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= B. TA-082/86 PSP's 1. Now toggle USB and Copy the 2.71 Update It'll be "EBOOT.PBP" copy that to the directory /PSP/GAME/UPDATE like the image ![]() 6. Disconnect USB and run the update ![]() 7. After the update finishes you'll be in firmware 2.71 . 8. Now format your Memory Stick either by PSP format utility or using your PC, though better use your PSP. 9. Download this installer, and run it, it'll ask you to choose between 2 options choose "Install HEN D", and follow the on-screen instructions. 10.After HEN D is installed run it by going to photos menu in the XMB(PSP's main menu). ![]() After running it a Blue screen followed by a Green screen should appear, otherwise restart the PSP and run it again. Note: The green screen will only have to appear only the first time you run it, if it appeared the first time, the next time you run HEN D only Blue screen will appear. 11.When you succeed in running HEN D(Blue followed by Green) the PSP will reboot itself, now go toggle the USB. 12.Run the installer again, but this time choose the second option which is "Install KeyCleaner". Follow the on-screen instructions until it finishes isntalling. 13.Now go run the KeyCleaner application from the PSP game menu ![]() 14.Now a blue menu will appear asking you to press X to analyze keys, do it. Now another menu will appear again asking you to press X to analyze TA-082/86, do it. 15.Now if your PSP was downgraded using any downgrader other than the Corruption-Free Downgraders a menu will appear stating that one/some of your keys are corrupt ![]() after few seconds another menu saying to press X to fix key(s), do it. 16.Now repeat step 14 and a menu will appear saying your keys are fine, and is having chilly willy key5 patched, and at the buttom an option of unpatching key5 by pressing X is possible, and warning that you'll brick if you unpatched the key in 1.50 or custom firmware. Since you're on 2.71 it won't brick, so press X. ![]() 17.After unpatching is done exit the application. 18.Now time to update to the Original firmware, copy the update EBOOT(3.70 for example) to the directory PSP/GAME/UPDATE ![]() 19.Now go run the update from the Game menu. ![]() 20.Follow the on-screen instructions, and in the end your PSP will be in the original firmware you updated to. Hope that this is helpful =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Credits --Me for writing the tutorial. --Calo for making the Recovery Files installer. --Dark_AleX for making HEN(homebrew enabler). --Chilly Willy for his KeyCleaner application, and his great work on discovering the IDStorage. --Team C+D for making the Pandora Battery, so we could try original firmwares with no fear.
