Default Adding FatmsMod to 5.00 m33

What you need to do:

1. Download the new PSAR dumper from Dark Alex.

2. Download the official 3.71 firmware update.

3. Place the 3.71 update (named EBOOT.PBP) on the root of the memory stick.

5. Start up PSP, run newpsardumper from the XMB. Use [] button to decrypt all.

6. Reset the PSP, go into recovery menu. Go to advanced, toggle “flash 0″ on. On your computer, open the folder “F0″. Find “fatmsmod.prx”, copy it to root of memory stick.

7. Put the fatmsmod patcher into your “psp/game” folder, then run it.

Done.

Credits to nyr2k2 for this

I had no idea what fatmsmod was or how i installed it, the normal instructions where just to far confusing. I followed this mans instructions and had a successful add on with 0 bricking. So i decided to post this to possible help others that have not looked through the comments. I also was running vegento1 theme mod, and it still worked.

Fatmsmod.prx patches just replaced the memory stick driver with the one from 3.71.

So far, the driver for 3.71 gives the best performance since so people still use it. Using the replacement brings about faster MS loading times whether it be for music, games, or videos.

I find no use for it since 3.95 though.

Can you remove anything afterwords? Or do you need to keep everything on the stick? First time using it.

eboot.pbp
fatmsmod.prx
F0 folder
psp/game/fatms371 folder
psp/game/new_psardumper folder

Edited:
Nevermind, found my answer in the 4.01 tutorial.

Thanks for the guide, but I have a quick question.

The “F0″ folder wasn't located in my Flash 0 folder but inside my memory stick.

So I just copied the “fatmsmod.prx” from my MS and pasted it on the root and it worked fine. Im just wondering how that happened.

Im currently running 5.00 M33-4 (Slim) with TM.

when you ran psar dumper & pressed square to decrypt all psar dumper dumped the flash0 files from the firmware eboot to the root of your memory stick inside a folder named F0 it wasn't supposed to be in you flash0 that was most likely a error in the wording & typing

Yeah I followed his steps and it was pretty straight forward. And yes the F0 folder is on the root of the ms.

You can delete all the files too, I read that in the older tutorial
