SIMPLE GUIDE FOR THE UPDATE.

1. You must be in Gen-a(full) or Gen-b(full) aka Gen-b2 before you update in Gen-D.
*dont update if your in "Gen-B" only or you may suffer a semi brick psp like in Gen-C.
*if your in Gen-C now, better to try to downgrade in Gen-b2, because better result is assure in Gen-B2 to Gen-D upgrade (suggest by GEN Team).
*"BUT" if you're in 4.01 M33 you can directly update to Gen-D (suggested by GEN Team again, though it brings confusion)

2. Before the update make sure your theme and background are set to "ORIGINAL" NOT in 'custom theme".

3. Disable all plug-ins.

4. Most Important!!BACK-UP your files m8..for your sake..

For This CFW Its Has Lots of Good Issues and good software not like the gen-c that has comes many bug and lag issues.

Configuration >
UMD Mod (currently : Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-)
Use VSHMenu (Currently) : Enabled
Use version.txt (Currently) : Enabled
CPU Speed : Default

Advanced > Advanced Configuration :
Plain modules in UMD/ISO : Disabled
Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO : Disabled

Do not leave a custom theme on your PSP.
Settings> Themes Settings> Theme> Original

If you encounter a black screen at the launch of the updated :
This bug is not a problem with our updater but with 5.50GEN-B(1).In this case, just make the update to Custom ; Firmware 5.50GEN-B2, then run the update to the 5.50GEN-D. In all other cases, from 4.01M33, the update is straightforward.


You must know how to set a Custom Firmware 5.50Gen-D :
This is important. How many time we've read : "since I'm in 6.10 for example I can't play my ISOs", then you just have to put a UMD in the drive or switch to no-UMD driver. Our tutorial "Configure your Custom Firmware 5.50Gen-D should help you to know everything you need to. Once again, if you encounter a problem, our forums are here to help you and to find an answer to your questions.

Ability to run 5.51+ games without having to patch them (UMD or ISO).
Possibility to launch PSN demos requiring 5.51+ without having to patch them (as MGS for example).

New 5.50 GEN-D2 Release!

Not long after PSP Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D was released comes an update to fix some bugs, specifically PSP Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D2 is now available.

Changelog:

1 : Fix Wlan TKIP in game loop : pes 2009 , fifa , motorstorm , GTA cw ect....
2 : Fix Video Output With 5.5X and 6.X Games like GTA Chinatowns War
3 : Fixed recovery menu with make Pandora and make battery normal
4 : removed splash screen http://www.pspgen.com but you have another spash screen in red color for let you know if the decrypter work.
