So I was using my old iPOD earphones to enjoy the sounds coming from my psp but to be honest, The sounds was bland and pretty low even at high volume. Here in Montreal we have city buses and subways and there's usually alot of street noise around so the lack of sound was very noticeable. After a few months my earphones started to rip down at the connector so I had to buy some new ones. So I decided if I was gonna buy some earphones I would spend a little extra and get something that I think will last and provide a good sound.

That being said, I went out and got myself these Sony Noise Canceling headphones, Model: MDR-NC6. Now I've never been much of an audiophile so I never spent very much on earphones but shit, what a difference.

Here's the specs for you tech lovers:
Type: Open air, dynamic
Driver units: 38mm dome type
Power handling capacity: 100 mW
Impedance: 20 Ω at 1kGz (when powered on), 65 Ω at 1kHz (when powered off)
Sensitivity: 106 dB/mW (when powered on), 104 dB/mW (when powered off)
Frequency response: 30 - 15,000 Hz
Frequency range of active noise attenuation: 40 - 1,500 Hz, more than 10 dB at 300Hz
cord: 1.5 m
Power source: DC 1.5v 1 x R03 (size AAA) battery
Mass: Approx. 150g including battery

As said before these make a huge difference. With the noise canceling turned off, I hear no street noise and can listen just fine on the city bus without outside noise. The only time I actually have to turn on the noise canceling is when I'm on the subway. Without the noise canceling, I can still hear the music over the subway but I can still hear the subway nevertheless. Once the noise canceling is turned on, however, I hear nothing but sweet tunes. These bad boy's also come with a single/dual Plug adapter for in-flight use and a carrying case. They also come with a 1 year limited warranty. You can buy them off the sony site for $79.99 but I bought them locally for $83.99 which is actually cheaper after factoring in shipping.

If any of you are going out to buy some new headphones and don't mind this price bracket, I strongly suggest picking these up.

8/10 Overall rating based on style and performance

Great review, I'm in the market for some new ones. I found them on ebay for only 30 bucks. I always get electronics there because it's always cheaper.
