Quick Guide for New Users

that would suck if it is... but i'm pretty sure it's not... like 90% sure. see, he bought it oh, about 2 weeks ago now from Circuit City. I mean, is is possible that circuit city would have had the new ones already? i want to check the box to see that letter code, but the box is gone now. thrown away. doh!

well, i guess if it is the new one, i suppose i have to wait untill it can be cracked. well, HE'LL have to wait. not me. its not my psp! haha!

hi im a newbie to psp i have a battery and charger but scared lol to try to mod without knowing how. i downloaded 5.00m33 to pc now i was told all i need is a pandoras battery or make one.is that all i have to do to get games to work on my psp? oh yeah i have the new update firmware too.

well, i was able to figure out why i couldnt downgrade my friend's slim. you guys were right, it did have the 88v3 mobo. I used that 88v3 checker method, and it let me know which version it was. Doh! oh well. looks like he'll have to either wait for a hack for that, or swap it out for one that IS hackable!

great info bcman for a noob like myself ive got a slim not sure about the code dont have box my bro got it back in 2007 anyway could you please tell us when you think the firmware will be out for the slim at the mo its upgraded to 5.01 and like ive said reading your thread ive been bitten by the bug and wont 2 no more and get more out of the psp thanks goggrats

did your psp come with any firmware 4.0 and higher?
if so you cant hack it yet.

if you upgraded it, then your only way to hack it is pandora.

i just finished installing the psp update version 5.01 on the fat psp. now i fell like kicking myself because i heard that now my psp is "un hackable" is that true

No, it's only unhackable if the PSP came with 4.01 or above pre installed. Since it's a fat there is no problem. The problem is actually a motherboard issue not a firmware issue.
