So where 2 start.......... a new updated tutorial is out, Scorpus has done a excellent job, read this for downgrading ur psp for more extensive updated knowledge. http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...hread-t227349/ HACK UR SLIM: http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f127...ethod-t199878/ My Quick tut http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...-with-t186757/ Spartan117 tut http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...im-or-t210546/ Beaker's/Klutsch's tut http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...hread-t227349/ Scorpus Tut DOWNGRADING/UPGRADING TIPS: Before any upgrade/downgrade, a few things to keep in mind, Charge ur battery so its 100% full, AC power plugged in when u run the upgrade/downgrade, backup any valuable files/savedata from ur psp, restore psp to default settings, format memstick before coping files to psp, remove any umd from ur psp, read readme file, NEVER TURN OFF PSP DURING DOWNGRADE/UPGRADE! DOWNGRADING: This must be done to install custom firmware, custom firmware removes Sony's restrictions, such as playing iso's and running homebrew (unsigned programs). Downgrading will typically bring ur psp back to 1.5 firmware, from there u install custom firmware. To use any of these ways, download files and read readme's. There are several ways, all depending on ur current firmware version. The following are 4 fat(old) psp's, not slim(ONLY way for the slim is pandora.) 2 - Lumines UMD (unpatched) - can only be used if u have 3.50 and lower http://calo-hacks.com/downloads/down...Downgrader.zip http://rapidshare.com/files/39625041/3.50update..zip 3 - GTA;LCS UMD (unpatched)(has update version 2.0 on it) - can only be used if u have 3.03 firmware or lower http://rapidshare.com/files/15133909...Downgrader.zip http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=72396 http://rapidshare.com/files/14167344/3.03_update.rar http://pspupdates.qj.net/How-to-find...g/49/aid/58178 To check if ur copy is unpatched... 4 - 2.8 easy downgrader- can only be used if u have 2.8 firmware or lower http://calo-hacks.com/downloads/down...0DownGrade.zip http://rapidshare.com/files/12130275/280update.rar And for those of you stuck on 3.11, heres the answer! http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/component...artdown/id,21/ PANDORA: 1 - Pandora Battery and Magic memstick Pandora... -Can downgrade/upgrade/unbrick ANY psp, slim or fat, regardless of firmware version. EXCEPTION: IF U HAVE A BRAND NEW SLIM WITH THE NEW PROCESSOR(comes stock with 4.01 firmware or u have a psp3000 series with 4.20 firmware)) IT CURRENTLY CANT BE HACKED, PANDORA BATTERY STILL WORKS BUT THE IPL ISNT RECOGNIZED THEREFORE U CANT FLASH CUSTOM FIRMWARE TO IT YET, THERE IS A FIX IN THE WORKS BUT IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TILL WE SEE IT. read this to determine what u have by the letters on the box. http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f117...ox-by-t223726/ Pandora... -Is a combination of a psp battery and a memory stick -The battery is converted into "service" mode, what this means is that when battery is inserted into psp, it makes the psp read/load/boot from memory stick instead of internal flash. -There are soft modded batteries that are converted using homebrew(software) by another CF psp or hard modded batteries where u open up the battery itself and lift a pin on the circuit board. Both of which do the same thing.... -A "service" battery/DATEL TOOL battery/Pandora battery/Hard mod battery ARE ALL THE SAME THING AND DO THE SAME THING. -Batteries can be soft and hard modded and then converted back to normal if done right.... -The memory stick contains the new firmware/software, DC = Despertar del Cementerio, which is loaded with "service/pandora" battery. - Three main versions of DC: -DCv3=flashes 3.71-2M33 to ANY psp regardless of firmware -DCv4=flashes 3.80-5M33 to ANY psp regardless of firmware -DCv5=flashes 3.90-3M33 to ANY psp regardless of firmware -DCv6=flashes 4.01-2M33 to ANY psp regardless of firmware -DCv7=flashes 4.01-2M33 to ANY psp regardless of firmware, AND REPAIRS corrupt idstorage and keys! usage advice for using pandora battery and magic memcard: AC UNPLUGGED from psp, magic memcard in, hold L trigger and insert pandora battery, release L trigger when memcard lights start to flash, DCv menu should load. Make sure pandora battery is at least 75% charged or menu may not load. -To make battery you must meet one of these requirements..... ---Have access to a psp that has 2.80 firmware or lower ---Have access to a psp that has custom firmware or 1.5 ---Buy a Datel Tool Batttery already converted to service mode battery ---Buy Pandora battery off EBAY (watch out 4 scammers!) ---Send ur battery to someone on these forums to make battery for u. ---Hard mod battery (open it up and lift/remove Pin5 from processing chip. Can be dangerous, wreck the battery, and may be perminent. Can only be done to certain batteries.) HARD MODDED BATTERY TUT'S read tut, hell, read them all, very good info.....the more u know the better......ONLY use something that is plastic so u dont short battery out..... HARD modding batteries, the fun stuff.... working batterys that can be modded http://www.noob911.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=680 non working batterys that cant be http://www.noob911.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=681 Read tuts! USAGE (All usage instructions are in ptf files from first download...) To do so, enter VSH menu (press home button from xmb for 3.52 users and select button from xmb for 3.71 and up users) then scroll down and set umd mode/iso loader to SONY NP9660(The Best!) Next, boost ur cpu speeds in game and xmb to 333/166(in VSH menu), this will not harm ur psp(only uses battery up a little faster)(Wifi card can become hot if used for long periods @ this speed) Also, format memstick to delete unneeded install files and create folder structure... All praise goes to the genius DARK ALEX, For his outstanding creation of SE/OE/M33 firmwares. Also, read Demonchild's tut on M33 firmware to understand more. http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=125380 GAMES/ISO'S: A few reminders for playing iso/cso games: -You must have Custom Firmware(OE/SE/M33) or 1.5(using dev-hook) on ur psp -Make sure gamename is less than 20 characters -New games require higher firmware, upgrade to the latest CF(M33) -Iso/cso files go in ISO folder(eg. ms0:\ISO\wipeout.iso) -U must have a folder called "game" in psp folder (ms0:\psp\game) make one if u must or format memcard with psp to create folder structure... -make sure u have set iso loader/umd mode to SONY NP9660(best) or M33(also good), this is found in recovery>config or in VSH menu... -make sure ur memstick is not fake. -some prx's(such as screenshot.prx) can interfer with loading iso's -some "backups/iso's" are corrupt, try a different copy -if u get the 80020148 error loading a game, enter recovery menu>advanced and format flash1 and reset settings, then reset ur iso loader and try again.. -To play ps1 games, take the folder that has the ps1 eboot in it and copy that folder to GAME folder (ms0:\psp\game) (eg. ms0:\psp\game\starcraft\eboot.pbp) http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...guide-t221360/ [Tutorial] Rain's Sony UMD/ISO/CSO Guide RECOVERY MENU: To enter Recovery mode, turn ur psp totally off (not sleep mode), now turn on and hold R trigger at the same time, this is ur recovery menu. -Now sometimes, doing upgrades causes bugs, to fix, i recommend everyone who does a upgrade to "delete flash1 and reset settings" from recovery. -Goto Advanced and select "delete flash1 and reset settings" -Also in Recovery i recommend u boost ur CPU speed to max for both options. -Also in Recovery is Configuration folder, make changes so it looks like this: skip sony logo - enabled hide corrupt icons - enabled game folder homebrew - 3.xx(depending on firmware) or 1.5 for homebrew(fat only and u need to install the 1.5 kernal addon patch for each different CF) autorun program @ -disabled (this is used to recover back to 1.5 or run a eboot if u mess up ur psp, 3.71M33 and under CF, does not work on 3.80M33 or 3.90M33) umd mode - SONY NP9660/M33 Driver (u dont need a umd in anymore, and it plays any iso/cso) VSH MENU: Besides Recovery menu, there is VSH menu, u can reach the vsh menu by pressing the "home" button from xmb for 3.52M33 users or by pressing "select" button from xmb for 3.71+M33 users. The VSH menu is just a quick shortcut of ur Recovery menu(if u cant access it, goto Recovery>Configeration and make sure vsh menu is enabled). DUMPING UMD 2 ISO: To dump a umd to a iso the easy way, u need M33 custom firmware, put umd in, from xmb goto vsh menu, then change usb device to UMD disc, then go back to xmb, then scroll left to usb connection, connect usb cord, and connect to computer, ur usb folder should appear, if not find it as a removable device in "my computer" and open it, u will see a file called umd9660.iso, copy this file to ur computer, when done, exit usb connection, go back to VSH menu, change back usb device to memory stick, then exit and connect usb again, rename the umd9660.iso file to the proper game name(keep name length less than 20 characters) and copy this iso file to ur ISO folder. Done PLAYING VIDEO ISO's To play video iso's, copy iso into ms0:\iso\video\ then, goto vsh menu from xmb by pressing "home" button for 3.52M33 and "select" for 3.71M33+. Scroll down to "iso video mount" and mount iso, exit vsh menu and goto game>memstick and run movie...(MUST have umd in) PS1 GAME INFO: Useful ps1 info links. -To play ps1 games, take the folder that has the ps1 eboot in it and copy that folder to GAME folder (ms0:\psp\game) (eg. ms0:\psp\game\starcraft\eboot.pbp)(custom firmware only) -Any Customizations your psp has - custom bootsounds, custom fonts, custom gameboots, etc. for example: custom bootsounds, are known to screw with the ps1 emulator in custom firmware versions sometimes. -Leave the opening_plugin.rco alone or ps1 games might not work.... ] http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f118...0-m33-t227541/ Popsloader Pack for 5.00 M33 http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f118...-beta-t147981/ Simple Popstation GUI v3.00 beta http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f118...hread-t147248/ Popstation Compatibility Thread http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...guide-t221552/ [Tutorial] Rain's PlayStation One on PSP SuperGuide http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f118...-beta-t147981/ Simple Popstation GUI v3.00 beta RECOVERY FILES: FOR FAT PSPS ONLY!!!!
