Default Noob! Psp-2003-ps3?

Hi All NOOB HERE (SORRY!)

Just recently bought myself a PSP-2003 PB and in two minds wether to mod or not?

Just a short cut to ask a couple of questions if ok? as have briefly flicked through posts but not found a answer as at work!

I bought PSP in mind to register and use remote play on my PS3, if i modded then would i still be able to use with my PS3 and not get in to a spot of trouble?

Also my cousins son has had his PSP modded but with old firmware, not sure what version but can found out, can i just get latest firmware and update or do i need to update all firmware in line up to the latest? (if thats in english?)

Many thanks for any help!!

I think you can still use remote play, but you will not be able to use the PSN to buy games. To hack your PSP, the simplest way would to be to get your hands on your cousin's PSP.

If it is on an M33/GEN/OE firmware, then you can use this on your cousin's PSP to make a soft-modded Pandora Battery. Just put the .cso file in the ISO folder on the memory stick, then launch the program. Go into Battery Settings and click on "Make Pandora Battery." That's it for the battery, now you just have to make a MMS (you can make it with any Memory Stick, as long as it's not fake and is 512MB or higher).

Use this on your computer and make your MMS. You will need the official 5.00 eboot, you can find it here. Now take the MMS and Pandora Battery, and put the MMS in your PSP. Hold the L Trigger and insert the Pandora Battery and keep the L Trigger held. A menu should appear and you can install 5.00 M33. Now you're on custom firmware.

Hope this is clear enough, if not then you can follow this guide.

remote play works fine, j just use it on a 5.00 m33-6 CFW psp

BUT

You CANT use connent over the internet, as that needs the PSN to work(and anything that needs a PSN connection will NOT work with CFW, for now)

but

over a Private Network, works just fine

Private Network is ad-hoc connection, you must be in rage of the ps3

It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)

3.95 means it is 100% hackable. You can use a pandora to hack it and you can permanently install CFW.

I suggest you install CFW as there is nothing to worry about.
1. Sony cannot ban your PSP for CFW.
2. If they do ban you, it'll be for cheating in an online game (infinite health etc.). And even that can be bypassed with a MAC Address spoofer. (PSN cannot be accessed on CFW at this moment, so Sony can't ban you right now).
3. 5.50 GEN-D2 can do remote play with the PS3 safely without the need of updating your PSP to a not CFW firmware.
4. 5.50 GEN-D2 can also play all games no matter what FW they need.
5. With CFW, you can get cool apps like a pdf reader for your ebooks, PSPTube for watching videos on youtube, emulators for NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and more.

Basically you have nothing to lose. If you want to know how to hack your PSP, just ask.

Hi m8,
Nice one! spoke to a friend who has got a pandora battery, and he said i could use that!
However he said he has got 6.0 m33 software, whats the difference between that and the 5.50 GEN-D2 and which is better? new'er?
Also reading something about a auto update for the GEN? is this were u can download latest Gen software when new out??
Registered my PSP with me PS3 last night and played around with it which was quite cool but did'nt update PSP! can i still mod it? and use it the same way when i download latest firmware or demo's for the PS3/PSP? i know it will be pointless for demo's for the PSP!

VERY SORRY for being a muppet!!! just wanna get it right first time round!!

SORRY AGAIN for the questions!!
Many Thanks!!

Hi Cheers!

Do i just download 5.50 GEN-D2 and put straight on with the padora battery? or do i have to upgrade version by version till i get to 5.50 GEN?
What's the difference between the different GEN software??
and is the m33 software now reduntant?

Cheers

You can do it with pandora

1. Obtain your Pandora battery by either
- A. Soft modding your battery
- B. Hard modding your battery
- C. Buying one
2. Make your MMS & Install CFW
3. Patch to 5.50 GEN D2

or without

1. Invoke chickHEN R2 and Update to 5.50 GEN D
2. Patch to GEN D2
