Hey, i'm new to doing this stuff and I was trying to download a game to my PSP. When I download it and put it on the PSP, i try to see if I can play the game. When I try to play it, i get a message saying:
The game could not be started.
(80020148)
Could someone be kind enough to tell me what i'm doing wrong? Thanks...

what version do you have? what game are you trying to play? did you patch the boot.bin? is it a psp game or a rom for an emulator? if it is an iso, do you have the loader? if you have the loader, did you put the right files in the right place in the game folder? did you rename the psp_game folder to the correct name?

hope i answered the question with my questions...try to give a little bit more info.

This is the first release of PSPacman.

Installation:

for 1.5 users:

copy the EBOOT.PBP from MS1 folder to the folder GAMEPACMAN
on your memory stick 1

copy the EBOOT.PBP from MS2 folder to the folder GAMEPACMAN
on your memory stick 2

for 1.0 users:

copy the EBOOT.PBP from 1.0 folder to the folder GAMEPACMAN
on your memory stick

those number mean what version of PSP u got, 1.0 PSP's are jap and where the first PSP's to come out, and 1.5 PSP the the American version PSP, but if u got a 1.0/1.5, u can update to 1.52 (but don't if u want to play homebrew cuz it only works on 1.0 and 1.5) and if u got a 1.5, u need the KXploit program to create the nessesary files and u only need one mem stick

I updated to 1.52 like an idiot... When I first got the PSP, I did the network update thinking I was being smart and having the most up-to-date software. Is there a way I can downgrade back to whatever I had at first?

vjg the instructions for 1.5 are quite dated... because there is a new method for 1.5 users that doesnt require two memsticks.. 1.5 is the firmware version like the operating system (more like a service pack tho) so 1.0 is win 98 and 1.5 is win 98 service pack 1 download psp sei from this site and put the eboot through that and check hide corrupted files... if that doesnt help ill dl it and fix it to work for you...

EDIT: shit i type slow there is a way to downgrade but it requires additional expensive hardware (so expensive you could buy a 1.5/1.0 easily)
