Yes there are people working on it but its slow going. Give them 2 or 3 months and you might have an exploit which would allow you to load homebrew apps (not ISOs) on your PSP.

For the time being, there's no working exploit on any firmware higher than 5.03. Just sit tight and don't upgrade.

hello all. i'm new.that said.

I have a psp 2001, it has official firmware 6.00.

2 questions.
1- how do i find what motherboard i have?
2-is firmware 6.00 hackable yet? i REALLY don't wanna spend money on a new psp and i have to fix my id-key storage and i heard you can do that with a hacked psp.

u will need pandora + mms to confirm whether u have a hackable motherboard or not

unless u rembr what official firmware the psp came out of the box?

Unless you know which firmware your PSP had out of the box then you'll have to open it up and see what it says on the motherboard of the PSP. Doing that will void your warranty. Even if it is a hackable motherboard you'll need to use a Pandora battery and a MMS to downgrade to 5.50 CFW.

JEEZ! your response time is amazing. its 4:40am and i got a response i already love this place.

maybe i can narrow it down some. its a white darth vader psp. Are those known to have the unhackable motherboard?

NOTE: i'm a little afraid to open up my 2001 because i opened my 1001 to clean some soda my dad spilled into it and the analog stick has never been the same
